A friend of mine just got back from a business trip to Denver. One of his collegues was looking for a beer called "Fat Tire". My friend told this person that he could probably get it for her in MPLS. He Tried Blue Max and Surdyks without success. Any of you beer detectives out there ever see this one? I don't have any info on brewery or even style. My guess is that it was discontinued.

Here's a letter from Bruce at the Cloudy Town brewers regarding the
Inter-Club campout. Hopefully it won't be so STORMY at Collinwood this
year!
If I recall, the styles for the Inter-Club competition are:
* California Common
* India Pale Ale
* Russian Imperial Stout
* Varietal Honey Mead
The St. Paul Homebrew Club has asked to join the party this year - WELCOME
ABOARD!

Hello Al
Nice to hear from you again. I've been working and I didn't have a chance
until today to read my mail. But I did send this notice out on 4/17 to all
the clubs hoping that they spread the word. I will be hosting Big Brew at
my
house this weekend between my days off so it doesn't look good for me to
make to UMMO, sounds like a blast.
cheers,
Bruce
Hello fellow homebrewers,
The dates been set and reservations have been made for the 2003 Inter
club
campout. We have been dragging our feet on releasing the date until final
reservations were made and Collinwood park does not reserve spaces until
the
middle of April.Keep your weekend free on July 18-19th. at Collinwood
County
Park. We decided to go to Collinwood this year because of its centralized
location for the brew clubs and because they welcome us with all our
homebrew and homebrewing activities every time. Again we have the same spot
in the back as last year but hopefully without all the rain.So once again.
What: Inter Club Campout
When: Friday and Saturday July 18 + 19th
Where: Collinwood County Park, Three miles southwest of Cokato off State
Hwy
12
Who: Home brew Clubs of the area or anyone who appreciates good beer
Why: because if you brew it, they will come
hope to see you-all there!
any questions contact

Mike-
You and Gloria have done a fabulous job with the newsletter over the last
three years as I believe all of the conversation on this subject has
mentioned. It's a big job, thanks for getting it done!
But everything can be improved, and I think we've seen many good ideas for
making The Boiler even better - not the least of which is all of the people
who have volunteered to WRITE ARTICLES for it! (I hope someone has written
down all of their names - hint, hint!)
Let's get that folder of pre-written but unpublished material over to
whoever is taking over the Boiler now, if you still have it. I'm sure some
of the articles were not time-sensitive, and can be published when future
issues are lean. With that sort of cushion, we should never be in the
"content-poor" situation!

As the "leader" of the newsletter content over the last three years, I
would
like to say thanks to all those who contributed. I know most of Johns
articles were published and if some weren't, yes, there was a space/cost
issue, especially when Steve Piatz got the words going. :)
I used to have a folder that I stuck stuff in when I thought it might make
for good reading. Some of the discussion about this topic could in fact be
used. As Will said, someone needs to be the point person. When it came
time for publishing, I just grabbed from my folder to fill in between the
meeting notes and the info on club events. The whole process took me about
4 total hours over a couple days. If any of you noticed, I even repeated
stuff twice! Who knew?
Finally, Gloria was sent the Word file and boy did she ever make it look
pretty. Thanks again to everyone who has helped and to those who will be
helping in the future.
