...enough time to crank out a few ales in order to make the entry deadline for the Upper Mississippi Mash-Out, which is 1/21/05.
The Mash-Out is THE club event for next month.
There's plenty going on:
-judging & stewarding
-specail beer treat for judges and stewards
-beer banquet at Summit
-awards at Summit
-judge/steward only prize drawing
-commerative beer for judges and stewards
-expanded award categoires
-3 mead award categoires
-2 cider award categories
-new entrant/new brewer award
-eis beer specialty
The contest is growing into one of biggest (and dare I say best?) in the Midwest.
Check the web site for deatail: http://mnbrewers.com/mashout for details.
I have a pound of whole cluster hops from hopsdirect
(the only place I've seen them, BTW) that I purchased
last year with visions of a lot of CAP dancing in
my head, but never got around to it. I won't be
using these for the forseeable future, so they're
going on the lambic pile or in the garbage unless
anybody wants them.
I never broke the foil oxygen-purged bag, or took
them out of my freezer. They're probably quite fresh
still -- the Hallertauer I purchased at the same time
definitely are.
I'm in St. Paul.

Mike, Rick, Newsletter Editor, Keeper of the Web Site, et al,
Best way to sign up for mba(a)thebarn.com is via the LSG/2 Mailing
List Interface.
http://www.thebarn.com/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi
I've copied the text from that page below. Note that it will accomodate
new users and your username at this site is/should_be the e-mail address
you are trying to add. Further note that you will need
to confirm your addition.
mba(a)thebarn.com now runs_on/uses "Ecartis", and not majordomo.
funky spellings (e.g. ecar_tis) are to avoid having the message
re-routed to the admins_re_quests address.
Addresses that generate lots of crud (e.g. bounces, vacation
messages, etc.) will be culled by the sys_admin or any of the
list_admins.
I can manually remove and add names from the list via the
administrative options on the same LSG/2 interface. But as
good citezens of the web, you really should attempt to DIY.
If you have trouble, drop me a line and I'll add you.
Would be GREAT if the mhba web site and the mhba newsletter
(the Boil-er), could be update with the current info.
Cheers,
Jim
