Congratulations to all! I am hoping it will become an annual event.
Need to work on the display of the beers inside the building. Kind of dull.
Take a look at the display for wines in the Ag-Hort building. Awards, Labels, names, etc. improve the attention grabing aspect. Maybe pour some of the beer into a clear glass for viewing (them brown long-neck bottles are kind of dull). Also, if it is MN only - maybe alter the rules slightly to add points for esthetics - labels, bottles, etc. - maybe some of the characteristic of the Christmas "competitition".
Cheers,
Mark

Entries for the next High Plainers Brewer of the year contest (River City

ship club entries by Tuesday August 26th to ensure they don't sit in a truck
over a weekend.
If entries are not available until later in the week I could make the ship
date Tuesday September 2nd, but that pushes delivery close to the deadline.
Entry details:
1) 2 bottles per entry.
2) $5 per entry for 1-3 entries, $4 per entry over 4.
3) No labels, markings or bottle decorations other than OFFICIAL ENTRY LABEL

Congratulations to Paul Johnsen and all of the Beer Bus Tour participants
for the article in the September issue of Zymurgy!
It was a good article about a well planned and well executed mission. I am
sure that it is the photo of the gang and those stylish bowling shirts that
makes this a "Special Collector's Issue" as noted on the front cover.
Dave
Great news, Mike. I think this shows that people can make a difference
by voicing their opinion. Contrary to what has been communicated from
the EP council, et al, I firmly believe this issue was being pushed under
the carpet. Perhaps not by the council, but someone made a decision and
made a phone call to Hops saying their request had been turned down.
Thanks to everyone who wrote--see you all at the Autumn Brew Review!

Update:
Last night the Eden Prairie City Council discussed this. There was a good
sign prior to the meeting, as there was a Hops growler sitting on the front
of the council dais.
Bob from Hops gave two presentations and I spoke in favor as a
resident. The Police Chief answered a couple of questions, all for the good.
It was surprisingly positive. All of the council members spoke in
favor. They now need to draft an ordinance to allow growler sales and then
turn it into law. No estimate on how long this will take.
