Brenda O'Malley is home making dinner, as usual, when
Tim Finnegan arrives at her door.
"Brenda, may I come in?" he asks. "I've somethin' to tell
ya." "Of course you can come in, you're always welcome,
Tim. But where's my husband?"
"That's what I'm here to be tellin' ya, Brenda.
There was an accident down at the Guinness brewery..."
"Oh, God no!" cries Brenda. "Please don't tell me..."
"I must, Brenda. Your poor husband Shamus is dead and gone.
I'm sorry."
Tears in her eyes, she looks up at Tim and asks:
"How did it happen? Don't spare me anything."
"It was terrible, Brenda. He fell into a full vat of Guinness
Stout and drowned."
"Oh my dear Be-Jesus, you must tell me true, Tim. Did he
at least go quickly?"
"Well, no Brenda... no. Fact is, he got out three
times to pee."

Anyone need a beer refrigerator? We are getting a new one and will be
retiring our existing beer frig "Meg". It is a Sears Kenmore. Works like a
champ (even the freezer section).
I need it gone by Monday so if you want it, let me know.

After last night's discussion on yeast, I thought this might be of
interest. It's an article Lew Bryson wrote a couple of years ago.

Head Brewer, Water Tower Brewing Company
Hi,
Thanks to all who attended the WestSide meeting as
well as Dave for hosting the meeting and Bob and
Damian for their input. I think everyone who attended
got a lot out of talking to the professional brewers,
and it seems that both homebrewers and commercial
brewers struggle with some of the same issues.
I think we may make this a regular feature of the
WetSide meetings (rotate the meetings between Hops,
the Water Tower and Sherlock's Home and possibly
WindRiver).
Once again, thanks to all!
Cheers!

For those of you that has made a methligen (sp?), I am thinking of doing one
with mint leaves in the secondary. If someone has experience with mint
leaves, can they let me know how potent the leaves are. I have no idea of
how potent they are
Thanks
Erik Nelson
