I have a "date" with Webber's Orchard for Sunday October 21 to pick
windfalls and press apples.
This is the MhBA apple pressing event for 2001. You don't need to let me
know about the Webber pressing, but a warm feeling is always nice to
know. I suspect I will be out there picking/pressing from 10am 'til 3pm.
For those favoring Minnesota Harvest non-pasteurized apple cider, my
suggestion is to get you
orders back to me and I will pick it up Nov 4 for the meeting at Water
Tower Brewery.
BTW, this is obviously an either/or situation, you can do one, the other,
both or none.

This might be a little early, but I wanted to let everyone know that we
will be having our annual peoples choice homebrew contest at this MhBA
XMAS holiday party.
on Nov. 30th, Friday, 6:10pm.
The style of this homebrew contest is "Winter Warmer's"
These homebrews would be simular to commercial examples to include strong
beers, fruit beers, spice beers, etc. Since it's a people choice homebrew
contest, we recommend enetering a keg so there's plenty to go around.
I hope this give's everyone time to brew!
Look for future e-mails reguarding other fun stuff happening at MhBA XMAS
holiday party!
Cheers!,
Mike "Swally" Swalinkavich, H# 651-487-2356
A quick message to all honey users. I do not have a bunch of details yet but it appears I have an open van returning from Tucson AZ and they are willing to haul back a reasonable quantity of honey.
We found a supply shop with huge honey containers and their price is fairly reasonable. I will try to post some prices and styles tomorrow. If you are interested in some unique honey for mead, beer, or toast send me a message. Included but not limited to mesquite and orange blossom.
Hope to make it to the Saturday meeting but will be a little late.

Here's a link to the Daily Southtown, September 26, 2001 about the
recent Chicago Historical beer presentation I did with John Freyer from
Three Floyds Brewing Company and comments from Marty Nachel owner of
Beer Gear, 7901 W.159th St., Orland Park, on the state of the micro
industry.

Something to think about:
If you bought $1000 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be
worth $49.
If you bought $1000 worth of Premium (the beer, not the stock) one year ago,
drank all the beer, and traded in the cans for the nickel deposit, you would
have $79. My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
