These are just the donations from the brewing community so far. The Brewers Guild is now involved, so there will be a lot of growlers and beer festival tickets likely to come. And Kathy's work group has a huge array of non-brew items.
Please feel free to forward this and help spread the word. And please drop by the Czech Hall above Glockenspiel on West Seventh in St. Paul on Wednesday night, 5-9, to make your silent auction bids while partaking in a wide variety of beverage choices, including some very special ones. No admission charge, free-will offering only.
To the many, many people who have responded, thank you.

Indeed Brewing Company is seeking an experienced brewer to join our team as brewer. Ideal candidates will have two or more years experience as a wort producing brewer in a production brewery setting. Experience in the operation of a mechanical separator for green beer clarification, development of sour and wood aged beers, and canning line operations are a plus.

For those interested the apple mix this year was roughly half Haralson and
then a mixture of Honeycrisp, Macintosh, Regent, Connell & Sweet Tango.
Cheers!

Friends, here's a poster for the Dec. 11 event, 5-9, at the Czech hall above the Glockenspiel bar in St. Paul. Please post it, send it on to other clubs, tweet about it, slap it on Facebook, notify the beer chat rooms - generally get the word out. Basically, you can do all your Christmas shopping at this event, drink beer, snack and support Kathy Stock at the same time. The silent auction items just continue to accumulate.
I'll send out the list next week, but the brewing-related items include more rare beers than I can count, a case of Summit Rebellion Stout (now impossible to find), private tours with guided tastings at Summit and at Pour Decisions, a 30-gallon whiskey barrel from Mississippi River Distilling Co. in Iowa, big ticket items from Northern Brewer, various bags of grain from Brewers Supply Group, some fine beverages from Josh Landy at The Wine Company and from Joe Falkowski of JJ Taylor, etc. Or how about a mead-making session and artisan pizza lunch with two-time National Meadmaker of the Year Thomas Eibner? Kathy's workmates have come up with many non-beer items, from Twins and Wild tickets, to home appliances to stays on the North Shore.
As noted on the bottom of the poster, if you can't come to event, you can contribute directly to the fund to support Kathy.
Cheers,
Paul

I am selling a camp chef propane burner. I have no use for it, since I
have a multi-tiered stand that I use for brewing. This would be a good
burner for someone just starting out in brewing. I have it posted on
craigslist and here is the link.

Hi,
Whoever is the caretaker for the club jockey box, could it be borrowed for the Kathy Stock fundraiser at CSPS on Dec. 11? One possibility might be to clean the lines and leave it in the CSPS kitchen for the club Xmas party two nights later.
Thanks,
Paul

Some of you may have heard that Kathy Stock, longtime volunteer at homebrew contests and co-brewer with husband Curt of some of the finest homebrew ever produced in this state, is battling brain cancer. The local homebrewing community is working with Kathy's workplace on a fundraiser that is coming up on Dec. 11, from 5-9, and the Czech hall on West Seventh that has been a venue for many MHBA meetings.
The party will have a goodwill offering, a silent auction and, of course, plenty of homebrew and donated commercial brews. We're working to set up a PayPal site so that people who can't be there but want to donate can do so. So, please come, do some bidding. If anyone wants to donate something for the auction, let me know. Likewise, if anyone wants to help with communications or other support, just let me know. PLEASE, help get out this information to other clubs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Kathy's boss, Jon Carlson, provided a very nice invitation that I will simply reproduce, because I can't say it any better:
As many of you know, Kathy Stock, a 12-year veteran of Braun Intertec and valued member of the Braun Intertec family was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year. During the past several weeks, Kathy has undergone an intensive series of radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Please join me by extending your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery for Kathy, and for strength for her and her husband, Curt, as they navigate this difficult journey.
To support Kathy and her family during this difficult time, we are working with her family and friends to organize a benefit to take place on December 11 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm .
* Free beer (donations from Kathy and Curt's home-brewing buddies - Yum!)
* Free soda and water (some planned donations)
* Some free appetizers (some planned donations)
* Potluck (feel free to bring a dish to share)
* Silent Auction - many fantastic items have been donated already, and we are happy to accept more (see contact info below)
* Music (live and recorded)
The doors will open at 5:00 pm and the silent auction will conclude at 8:00 pm, with the winners announced immediately following. You do not need to be present to win.
The benefit will be held at:
Czech-Slovak Protective Society (CSPS) Hall
383 W Michigan St, St Paul, MN 55102
(northwest corner of W. Michigan St. and W. 7th Street)
http://www.sokolmn.org/hallrental.htm
Our hope is that through this benefit and silent auction, we can raise money to help with the medical bills and other financial stresses that accompany a serious illness. Please join us in this effort to help make life a little easier for Kathy and her loved ones during this difficult time.
Hope to see you there!
