With but two months before the beer journey of the year,
it's time for folks to get on the bus, so to speak. Don't
let the August heat fog your mind--focus on touring NINE
Wisconsin breweries on a crisp, cool, colorful autumn
weekend on a luxury coach filled with fellow beer
connoisseurs!
Thanks to those who have sent their deposits; your roles in
this crazy adventure are secured. As for the rest of you,
you need to be asking yourselves, "why in the world WOULDN'T
I go on this trip?!? Is is because I don't like beer? Is
is because I fear comraderie? Is it perhaps that I don't
care for inexpensive carefree road trips through beautiful
countryside? Hmmmm . . . I guess there really is no reason
to miss Beer Good Bus Tour II!"
Please send your $50 per person deposit ASAP to John
Longballa, 1211 Minnehaha Ave W, Saint Paul, MN 55104. If
you need to get yourself fired up about this trip, the
original message with itinerary follows below. Bring your
significant other, bring your beer-loving friends, but sign
up TODAY, because the deadline for reservations will be
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH!!!!
Cheers!
John
P.S. The room rate has dropped to $56 for two double beds!

FROM A FRIEND IN CALIFORNIA ------------------------------------
Bubba and Earl
Two Fresno State Students, Bubba and Earl, were driving down the Main
Street drinking a couple of bottles of Budweiser. The passenger, Bubba,
said, "Lookey thar up ahead, Earl, it's a dadgum police roadblock!!
We're gonna get busted fer drinkin' these here beers!"
"Don't worry, Bubba," Earl said. "We'll just pull over and finish
drinkin' these beers then peel off the label and stick 'em on our
foreheads, then throw the bottles under the seat."
"What fer?" asked Bubba.
"Just let me do the talkin', OK?," said Earl.
Well, they finished their beers, threw the empties out of sight and
put labels on each of their foreheads. When they reached the roadblock,
the sheriff said,"Howdy boys, ya'll been drinkin'?" "No sir," said Earl
while pointing at the labels. "Me and Bubba's on the patch."

Subject: [mnbrewers] brew equipment for sale
I am helping a friend sell some brew equipment that he has both purchased
himself, and inherited from another brewer.
It is used but definitely usable (one might want to start with a brand new
bucket and spigot, of course).
It could be a good way for a friend to get into homebrewing. Or it could
just be a bunch of additional equipment to add to your own supply.
Price: $50 or B.O.
You could of course come and look at it (Midway area of St. Paul) before
buying.
We're not willing to ship this stuff.
Inventory:
- 2 glass carboys 5 gallon
- 22 qt brew pot
- bottle drying tree
- 2 cases of returnables in good condition, and the carrying cases
- 2 swing top clear bottles
- racking cane and carboy cap
- 2 hydrometers
- 1 floating thermometer
- black beauty bottle capper
- another old capper (might be wine corker)
- bucket and spigot
- 1 wine thief
- bottle caps
- One Step sanitizer
- 2 stoppers
- 4 airlocks
- carboy brush
- bottle brush
- reusable mesh grain or hop bag
