Bruce
Hi Bruce,
A few years ago, I bought a beer can collection from a friend of
mine. They're currently sitting in my garage in cardboard boxes.
I know you collect beer things, so I thought I'd see if you
might like them because they're just going to waste here. There's
probably a couple of hundred cans. Some of them are pretty neat. There's
a bunch of cans from one of the brewer's Wildlife seriies, there's some
Budweiser Light cans, from before they called it Bud Light.
Anyway, let me know if you want them and we can work out a time and place
where I can get them to you. You just have to take the whole mess, not
just the ones you want. :)
See ya!
Tim

Had lunch at Mark Van Wie's new place, the Muddy Pig, this afternoon and can report the food is excellent--and they've only been open two days! Now we'll have to make sure he has the FULL complement of fine Minnesota beers...

Hi All!
Mark here. It seems crazy but it has been a full year since I left
Great Waters. Retirement was great but it's time to get back in the
game. I am pleased to announce the opening of my new restaurant, The
Muddy Pig.
You can find The Muddy Pig at 162 N. Dale Street here in Saint Paul. We
are just south of the intersection of Selby and Dale in the old Cognac
McCarthy's/Maggie's/Bamboleo location. We have a beautiful space, a
great menu (we are calling it Selby-Dale cuisine) and a full bar.
Do we have beer? Yup. Not making it this time but we will be bringing
in some good suds from around the world.
We are open 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. every day so stop on in for lunch,
dinner or just to catch up. See you soon!

Greetings all,
It's hot and it's July and it's summer. So drink some cold beer!
Now that you're in the right frame of mind, don't forget our upcoming events.
July 16, 7-10pm Barley Johns in New brighton
August 2-4, Campout at Collinwood Cty Park near Cokato
Sept 7, Autumn HOMEbrew Review and the Autumn Brew Review tasting festival.
October 5, AHA Club Only Comp, we'll be judging Strong Belgian Ales from around the nation.
To make these events successful and easier on everyone, we need some help. First, I'm looking for a few MHBA members to help with the campout. So far I'm the head chef with Al Boyce working on music, and Rick Oftel supporting the food effort. I'll need at least 3 more people to round out the committee.
Second, I need to put together a small group of volunteers for the Autumn HOMEbrew Review Competition. The members who worked on the Upper Mississippi Mashout did a great job, and I hope that with your help we can make the fall comp just as successful.
Send me an e-mail.
Thanks,
Mike Moranz, President
Minnesota Home Brewers Association
Hi, I just wanted to remind all of you who are AHA members that Today
starts the new Pub discount program.
See www.beertown.org for more details
This program includes Hops restaurants and Rock Bottom Restaurants which are
both in the Twin Cities area.
Hops restaurants discount says "Happy Hour prices anytime where allowed"
Rock Bottom Restaurants says "Its a surprise"
Anyone going into these establishments please let me know how the discount
is running and what the discount is for Rock Bottom Restaurants. I am also
curious to know if there is any advertising in the establishment as to the
discount and how well the communication from the corporate office is with
the local restaurant.
Thanks,
Susan Ruud
AHA Board of Advisors
A hearty congratulations to Steve Piatz for his bronze medal (Fruit
Lambic Style Ale) at the National Homebrew Competition!

Stop in and check out the great selection. Ask for Tom Keim if you have
questions. Winestreets is located in Bloomington. Head to France and Old
Shakopee and its right next door (west) to Cub Foods. Also, the Polish
importer can get us some meads if we provide some brands. Anyone remember
the square bottle at our mead night? Check out the huge Belgian selection
while you're there.
