I am Dr. Mopolo Davies, a top management staff in the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and I
head a seven-mantender's board in charge of Contract
Awards and Payments Approvals.
I came to know of you in my search for a reliable and
reputable person to handle a very confidential transaction
that involves the transfer of a huge sum of money to a
foreign account. There were series of contracts
executed by a consortium Multinationals in the oil
industry in favor of NNPC among which were: The
Supply of Y2K Compliant Personal Computers and
Accessories to the Warri, Port arcourt and Kaduna
Refineries. Supply of Drugs and Relief materials to
the victims of the Niger/ Delta crisis .The construction
of Schools, Hospitals and Housing Units in the
Niger/Delta Region.
The original value of these contracts were deliberately
over invoiced in the sum of USD FOURTY ONE MILLION,
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (41.5M) which has now been approved
and is now ready to be transferred being that the Companies
that actually executed these contracts have been paid
and the projects officially commissioned. Consequently,
my colleagues and I are willing to transfer the total
amount to your account for subsequent disbursement,
since we as civil servants are prohibited by the Code of
Conduct Bureau (Civil Service Laws) from opening and/or
operating foreign accounts in our names.
Needless to say, the trust reposed on you at this
juncture is enormous.In return, we have agreed to offer
you % of the transferred sum, while 10% shall be set
aside for incidental expenses (internal and external)
between the parties in the course of the transaction.
You will be mandated to remit the balance 70%to other
accounts in due course.
You must however NOTE that this transaction is subject
to the following terms and conditions. Our conviction of
your transparent honesty and diligence. That you would
treat this transaction with utmost secrecy and confidentiality.
That as a foreign partner, you! Will follow our instructions
to the letter. Provide the account required, and
competent to assist us on profitable investment areas in
your Country in an advisory capacity. Furthermore,
Modalities have been worked out at the highest levels of
the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria
for the immediate transfer of the funds within 10 working
days subject to your satisfaction of the above stated
terms.
Our assurance is that your role is risk free. To accord
this transaction the legality it deserves and for mutual
security of the fund, the whole approval procedures will
be officially and legally processed with your name of any
Company you may nominate as the Bonafide beneficiary.
Once more, I want you to understand that having put in
over 26 years in the service of my country, I am averse
to having my image and career dented. This matter should
therefore be treated with utmost secrecy and urgency.
Kindly expedite action as we are behind schedule to
enable us included! This transfer in the first batch of
this second financial quarter payment.

has anyone tried side by side recipes, or at least repeated the same recipe,
and compared Wyeast to White Labs?
Recently I started brewing recipes with White Labs yeast that I've repeated
several times before with Wyeast and I've noticed differences in how quickly
(or slowly) they ferment but I don't know if it is just my luck, system or
recipes.
1) starter solutions seem to take longer to step up. I like to step the
starter up a few times, pouring off the "beer", to gather lots of yeast.
With the same basic sterile wort solution and fresh yeast the White Labs
seems to take long to complete the cycle and drop out. Some varieties
(pilsner) don't drop well at all.
2) the initial fermentation (both starters and real recipes) seem to start
faster with White Labs which is a good thing. I often see good activity in
less than 6 hours.
3) fermentations seem to take much longer to complete As I repeat recipes
that I have made several times before with Wyeast I can see a significant
difference (days) in time to complete fermentation with the White Labs.
Aeration, yeast nutrient, recipe, starting gravity, temperature - all as
close to the same as I can control.
As I think back to the first few recipes I tried with White Labs I do
remember having to be very patient while waiting for the fermentation to
complete, but I didn't have anything with which to compare. Somewhat like
watching a kettle boil.
If anyone else has experience with switch between yeast brands on a recipe,
or other suggestions I'd appreciate the response. The faster start and the
slower finish is what really has be confused.
Since this is working out to be such a great basis for an experiment I think
I will try the next step. One of my next brews I will try a side by side
comparison. I will make starter solutions from each brand and split a batch
to really compare differences (including taste) from what should be the
same.

Here's the latest news:
Block Programming Focuses Interest
This year, we're arranging the speakers' presentations into blocks dealing
with specific topics of interest. There are half-day units on Belgian
brewing, beer evaluation, German & English beers, and several others
including the Boot Camp (see below) and a Hyper-Techno-Ultra-Geek session.
Most times there are two different blocks going so you'll have a choice,
and you can go back and forth as you please. Go to

Charlie Papazian to Host Boot Camp for Brewers
This intensive training for the new or not-so-new brewer will take place on
the morning of Saturday, June 21. Sessions will be conducted by a number
of well-known brewing authors and authorities, hosted by America's favorite
homebrewer, Charlie Papazian. Stir that pot, maggots!
BC4B will be a four-hour intensive training session that will take you from
grain to glass with a series of short, but intensive sessions covering all
aspects of brewing, including demonstrations of extract and all-grain
brewing.
Here's a preliminary list of topics:
* Barley, malting, and the importance of kilning
* The varieties and uses of hops
* Basic extract + adjunct brewing procedure
* Sanitation
* Recipe formulation
* Yeast types and their use
* Fermentation technique
* Bottling, kegging and "real" homebrew
* Common faults, their causes, and prevention
* Beer evaluation and appreciation
Sessions will be conducted by a number of well-known brewing authors and

About the host:
Charlie Papazian is the founder of the AHA as well as the Institute for
Brewing Studies and The Association of Brewers. Charlie is also the author
of a number of homebrewing books, including the very popular The New
Complete Joy of Homebrewing. His wit and wisdom have contributed immensely
to the creation and appreciation of quality beer in this country and around
the world. His enthusiasm, humor, and knowledge should help make this
introductory course one of the best ever offered.
Prizes Offered for Club Night
Get all your pals together and show some team spirit at Thursday night's
Club Fest, a celebratory potluck of beer and food. Prizes will be offered
for the best booth, for the club with the best beer & food pairing, and for
the club that brings the most beer with them to the conference (competition

The Association of Brewers' web site has been undergoing a recent
revamping, plus the organization has switched their Internet services
company. The latter has resulted in some temporary instability that has
