Hop Survey
I was contacted by Peter, a local grower who is looking to expand into hops production. He is planning for a small acreage next season with the intention of selling direct to local homebrewers here in the Twin Cities area. To that end, Hes put together a web-based marketing survey directed towards homebrewers to get their input and perspectives. If you could help him out, Im sure youll make the guy happy!

Wow-
Another great turnout (over 50 people), another year with fantastic weather,
another Saints victory in our presence, another club member participating in
between-inning, on-field frivolity, and another good time had by all in
attendance!
Big thanks to Bob Norman for bringing the mongo-grill!
Thanks to everyone who brought food and beverages to share-people especially
loved the patriotic ring cupcakes!
There was no cross-dressing this year, but Jon Passki did take one for the
team by allowing Killibrew root beer to be poured over his head on the field
so that one row of club members would receive free Killibrew root beer. But
to add insult to sticky wetness, EVERYBODY received the same free root beer
on the way out of the stadium-whoops! :-)
See you next May-same game (first regular-season Thursday Saints game), same
place!
John
As you may know, the club has had 'issues' with CSPS Hall reservations for
past meetings. In order to avoid problems with the Holiday Party in
December, we'd like to find an alternate location.
So, please think about places you've been or organizations that you are a
member of, which have meeting halls that we could use for the annual Holiday
Party. A key consideration is that we can bring in our homebrew to share -
some places won't allow that.
If you know of a place, please get some details and forward them to myself,
Paul and Chris. Please don't just send names of places. We need your help
to get some information.
We would like to keep the current planned date of Friday, December 4th from
6pm to 10pm.
Thanks!

Announcement - Join us for the MHBA Family Picnic in August!
MHBA Family Picnic - Saturday, August 8 from 9am to 6pm. "Hilltop" picnic
shelter at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve in Rockford.
We have reserved the "Hilltop" picnic area at Lake Rebecca and have a permit
to bring in homebrew.
Hilltop has a big shelter, lots of tables and they say it holds 1,000 people
including the surrounding wooded area.
The shelter has a huge grill, electricity and there are smaller grills
nearby.
There is parking and restrooms and it's a short walk to the lake. Bring
your boat / canoe / fishing stuff / bathing suit!
There are also biking and hiking trails that go past the picnic area.
There's room for volleyball, but we need to bring or rent a net and
equipment. If someone would like to arrange that, please let me know.
Horseshoe courts are nearby but are open to the public and we also need to
bring or rent equipment.
There's plenty of open area for any other activities.
Lunch will be pot luck with the main grill lit up and available around Noon
for anyone to use.
And we have an official permit to bring in kegs, etc.! The Jockey Box will
be available.
But, we do need to have all beer out of the area by 6PM.
