Nothing like the nanny state protecting the majority of responsible
adults because of a few that can't control themselves. Cutting off a
source of revenue for most bars should really help them out in these
hard financial times helping to keep people employed (from the bar
employees to the brewery employees) right?
Time to contact the City Council and let them know how you feel about
this.

Subject: Fall in Love with Beer and Chocolate!
To: Kathryn Porter <kathryn(a)brewersassociation.org>
Hello Evange-Ale-ists!
It’s February and LOVE is in the air! In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’re pairing AHA Gift Memberships with delicious Askinosie Chocolate. Yum! Until February 22, anyone who Gives the Gift of an AHA membership will receive two limited edition Askinosie Soconusco Dark Milk Chocolate Bars (52% cocoa) a $16 value! This is a great gift for your friends, loved ones or even yourself!
Chocolate loves a dark beer. Milk chocolate is wonderful with Belgian-inspired strong dark ales. Flourless chocolate cake or truffles call for an inky imperial stout. Fruit beers have an obvious affinity for fruit desserts, but they can be magic with chocolate as well. There are endless possibilities in the world of pairing beer with chocolate. Learn more about the ultimate indulgence, beer and chocolate , and check out this recipe for a Cherry Dubbe l, the perfect complement to milk chocolate, butter truffles or chocolate bread pudding.
Be sure to tell people this promotion is only available online . The have to go to: http://shop.beertown.org/ brewers/ and follow the links to AHA membership. Choose “Give the Gift” and you’ll automatically receive the two chocolate bars with an AHA Gift Card. The card must then be activated online to get the membership started. To receive Evange-Ale-ist points, have them add your name in the comment field. Ex. Evange-Ale-ist Kathryn Porter.
If you have questions, please let me know. Also, the standard Evange-Ale-ist Membership Form is attached. Please note, the two free chocolate bars are not available with a discounted membership!
Cheers,
Kathryn

The Cloudy Town Brewers have arranged to have Elaine Davis, author of

>From the book's website http://minnesota13.us/
"Minnesota 13" is a historical overview of the years from 1920-1933,
when moonshine production dominated the county while the 18th
Amendment was in effect. The skill of the local moonshiners --
combined with the perfect strain of corn -- produced some the best
whiskey in the United States. It was bootlegged and sold in
speakeasies from New York to San Francisco and competed successfully
with the best alcohol rumrunners could provide.
