Has anyone seen this deal or know anything about it? It seems this guy has
quite the inventory. Maybe we could work out a club purchase and get a great
deal...

Jeff,
My father in law is a huge Surly fan. When he heard about the Growlers getting prohibited due to the brewery getting too big he decided to do something. He spoke to Michael Nelson who is a Rep. in the Minnesota House of Representatives who also happens to be a fan of Surly Growlers.
Representative Nelson decided to write a bill that would allow the Brewery to continue to sell Growlers. You can read the emails from him and my father in law below. So if you're interested, write to your Rep. and tell them to vote for it.
See ya,
Andy Mattison

I am now Pumphouse, the lobbyist.
Surly brewery is now prohibited from selling growlers because they got too
big. The bill would up the annual limit on a micro-brewery which would
enable them to sell growlers.
Write your house rep to support it if you ever want to buy a Surley growler

Steve,
I just wanted to let you know that I introduced a bill addressing the issue
you brought up at Surly Brewery. I have attached it below, but you can
monitor its movement on the House website.
Now, I have spoken with staff in our non-partisan House Research Department
and this bill will need some tweaking during committee. I have asked for a
hearing, but I do not know when or if I will get one.

The Four Firkins
Sierra Nevada Torpedo and Bigfoot
They're here!
02/17/2009
Sierra Nevada.
Torpedo and Bigfoot.
After many delays, the one you've all been waiting for is at last on the shelves at The Firkins.
Sierra Nevada Torpedo Ale is a big American IPA; bold, assertive and full of flavor and aromas
highlighting the complex citrus, pine and herbal character of whole-cone American hops.
Torpedo
Bigfoot, is also here. This year marks the 25th release of Bigfoot. An award-winning barleywine
it boasts a dense, fruity bouquet, an intense flavor palate and a deep reddish-brown color. Its big maltiness is superbly balanced by a wonderfully bittersweet hoppiness. A great beer for the cellar, it'll age for decades.

New Blvd "Single Wide IPA"
Plus, Nogne, Mikkeller, Fantome and Baird.
02/14/2009
Happy Valentines Day!
Celebrate your love with beer.
Here's how it works:
Guys: Try to remember a beer that you both had on vacation or some other
special time in your life. Maybe the day you proposed to her or asked her
out for the first time. That way the beer will have special significance.
Wrap the beer or present it in a basket with flowers. Remember to include a
card and make some witty mention about that day and why the beer is special.
Maybe even drape a new necklace around the neck of the beer bottle.
This way the beer will always be special and have a place in her heart
right next to you.
Gals: Just buy him beer. No basket, no wrapping, no flowers, no card. He
won't care. Just buy him the beer he likes and he will think you are the
most amazing woman on earth!
Boulevard Single Wide IPA
Right here, right now!
The latest addition to the Boulevard family of year-around beers,
Single-Wide I.P.A. is their take on a style that originated in 18th century
Great Britain. This American version -- inspired by our Smokestack
Series Double-Wide I.P.A. -- boasts a heady combination of six varieties of
hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping.
Slightly hazy, golden bronze in appearance. Aroma is flowery, with hints of
citrus and fresh mown hay. Assertive hop signature, yet well balanced with a
crisp, dry finish.

Available in six packs only. On the shelves right now.
Baird - A Japanese Craft Brewer.
Two new beers.
Dark Sky Imperial Stout
As the name implies, this is an extremely foreboding brew, pitch black in
color, unctuous in body,
complex and elusive in flavor, and hoppily aromatic. This granddaddy of
Stouts is brewed with eight different malts, Japanese dark sugar and five
varieties of hops. If you are a fan of hearty dark ales, Dark Sky Imperial
Stout is for you! 9 % ABV.
Shizuoka Natsumikan Ale
A summer mikan ("natsumikan") is an almost grapefruit-like citrus fruit
that is tart and sweetly sour in flavor and is very aromatic.
The beer has a wheat accented grist bill that compliments the workhouse
malt -- Crisp floor-malted Maris Otter. The hopping is all-citrus and
all-American (Centennial, Amarillo, Cascade and Ahtanum). The alcohol is
moderately strong around 5.5% ABV. The quenching result is summer paradise
in a glass.
22z bottles on the shelves now.
Fantome
Extremely rare beer.
This is one of the only remaining true Farm-House breweries in Belgium. They
are a tiny, small batch brewery that specializes in the Saison style of
beer. Some spiced, some not. All are amazing.
The beers are highly sought after and whenever we get them they go very
quickly. Don't miss out.

this. One bottle per customer.

24 bottles only.
The first in a new series of single hop IPA's from Mikkeller. Brewed with
