Greetings fellow Homebrewers!

In addition to the normal BJCP categories, we will also be giving awards for best new entrant, best beer name, and our very own "Snowblower" category (you know, the beer you grab after a hard day of snowblowing).
Our competition has been growing every year; we are looking for additional judges and stewards to make this our best event ever! Flights will start on Friday at 1:00, 4:00 and 7:00 pm and again on Saturday at 10:00 am.

Coopers tasting and Hopslam Pre-Order
HopSlam is almost here...
01/08/2009
Coopers Sampling event. Friday - 9th 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Ever wondered what real Aussie beer tastes like ( not Fosters )? The
Australian micro brew scene is at last coming of age and Coopers Brewing

is one of the originals, every beer is bottle conditioned ( Live yeast in
the beer ) and very full flavoured. Friday the 9th from 4:30pm till 6:30pm
we'll be opening all the Coopers beers. It's free, just come on down and try
some!
Beer prices are going up!
I know none of you want to hear that but unfortunately it's true. Over the
next few weeks we're going to see pretty substantial price increases from
most of the micro breweries you know and love. Two that have already taken
place are Bells Brewery and Tyranena.
This will also include the price of Bells Hopslam this year.
Bummer!
Still, compared to fine wine, good beer is amazingly cheap.
Bells Hop Slam Pre-Order
It's almost time for HopSlam, January 19th is the date it will arrive at my
Distributor. This is without a doubt the most highly requested beer I've
ever encountered. Needless to say it will go quickly.
This year the price has increased. $16.79 per six pack.
If you want to pre order a case come down to the store before the 19th and
we can set you up.
The only way to hold a case is pre order, no discounts, no rain checks,
simply first in first served. Good luck!

An English Coffee beer?
2006 WORLD BEER CUP GOLD MEDAL
This Coffee Beer is made with real coffee and has a caffeine hit to match.
The natural flavours of the beans selected and hand roasted by the Union
Coffee Roasters go well with the roast barley in the beer to give a
silky-smooth drink with distinct chocolate and vanilla notes.

Urthel Hop-It
Super Hoppy Belgian
Hildegard returned from the Anchorage Barleywine Festival inspired by the
wonderfully hoppy beers she tried there. Barleywines, IPA, Double IPA and
all manner of over-the-top beers sparked her creative impulse and the result
is Hop-It. Brewed with only one malt (pils) and three hops (Saaz, Styrian
Goldings and Magnum), it's a truly unique beer for hop lovers.

Fullers Vintage Ale
Since 1997, Vintage Ale has been the crème de la crème for Fuller's. It has
won a many awards around the world and given us recognition for being a
World-Class Brewer. This year, we have released only
1,600 cases to North America - each bottle is numbered.
Though Vintage Ale 2008 is good for drinking today, it is also ready to lie
down in your cellar reaching peak condition in three or four years. We
recommend Vintage Ale 2008 be consumed at cellar temperature or 52ºF or
10ºC. Pour it slowly into a Cognac balloon and allow the beer to breathe.
Then sip it on its own or with a fine cheese and feel the warmth of the
season come upon you.
