FYI, Great Waters today released a hand pulled beer called "The
Apocalypse". Haven't had it myself yet, but I know it contains some peated
malt and is a pretty strong beer.

Here's the March newsletter from the Prairie Homebrewing Companions.
Don't forget, Saturday at noon is the big CHILI COOK-OFF and SWAP at the
CSPS Hall on 383 Michigan St in St. Paul. Bring your chili, bring your
appetites, bring your beer, and bring your gently used brewing gear to
swap/sell to fellow brewers who might need them.
The Style of the Month is American Pale Ale - the winner will be invited to
compete for club championship on Tuesday at BJCP class for the right to
represent our club at the national Club-Only AHA American Pale Ale
competition!

I've done this with boy scout troops and it really isn't hard or time
consuming as long as you have enough volunteers
Although for the scouts it was only twice a year (once before winter,
once after winter)
Rick - any idea where the stretch might be located?
Count me in

OK Folks, Rick here on the day before the great Chili Cookoff. Well I
think it is the day before.
Anyhow, I have a simple question for the club and if I receive enough
"yes votes" I will continue.
How many folks would be willing to assist three times per year to help
clean up litter from a two mile stretch of roadway? In return, the
state erects a fancy sign advertising homebrewing. The minimum
commitment is two years.
I think our club would need 15-20 confirmed volunteers willing to walk
around, clean up stuff, and why not have a beer?
There you go. Let me know if I should find out more.

Where is the stretch of highway? Somewhere near one of the TC brewpubs
would be good....
I would help!

Didn't Green Mill get in big trouble for trying this a few years back?

Yes the downtown Minneapolis Rock Bottom will be shipping a couple of
their beers over there. I had talked to their GM Brent Campbell
about it. Rock Bottom beer at inflated airport prices. Although I
guess it'll be nice as I traditionally have at least 1 beer before
flying.

For all you happy travelers out there, it looks like the MSP airport is<BR>
adding a new establishment that many of you may be interested in. They

Hello everyone--
I am teaching a beginning brewing class at the Science Museum of Minnesota on Thursday, March 16th from 6:30-9:00. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please have them go to
http://www.smm.org/educationprograms/adult/catalog.php
very soon. We need a few more people to register by Tuesday in order to make the class viable.
Registration may seem steep, but the $110 includes an equipment starter kit and brewing text, while the $60 includes the brewing text. The SMM also needs to cover their overhead. I am not being paid for this; this partially fulfills our obligations to the SMM for the grant project that we participated in.
The class will include a discussion and tasting of a few beer ingredients and styles while we brew a batch of extract beer.
If you know of someone who is interested, please have them contact me if they have other questions.
Thanks,
John

I got a grand total of ONE interested person after my first email....
I know the event is not until August, but you need to send a check NOW if
you want to get group tickets. I have to have checks in hand by April 3
to be able to tell the Madison Homebrew Tasting Guild how many tickets our
group will need. PLEASE EMAIL ME if you are intending to take advantage
of this, then send me your check right away. (See address below).
BTW - Tickets are only $30, not $35 as I had originally posted.
If we don't get at least 25 people who are interested, you will have to
take your chances on the lottery to get individual tickets - and the
chances are not good.
Thanks!
