Greetings All-
Well, Winterfest tickets sold out in about 20 minutes. While it was
expected to sell out, this was totally unexpected. I was on the phone quite
a lot yesterday with the folks at Ticketworks, and they were swamped.
It is my understanding that some of you may have thought you purchased
tickets only to find out later that the event was sold out. I sincerely
apologize for the confusion; however, Ticketworks is very good at tracking
the order in which calls were received. So, had it not been for a glitch in
the system, you would have found out immediately that there were no tickets
available. I know that's probably not much consolation, but it's the best I
have to offer.
Whether you ended up getting tickets or not, thank you for the overwhelming
support of the event. We're already talking about looking into a slightly
larger venue next year, but don't expect a huge increase in the size.
Winterfest always has been and shall remain an intimate event, where you get
a chance to come in from the cold and sample some special beers from Guild
members. It's meant to be special, and Mike and Jeff do a great job
organizing the event.
Cheers!

>From the Mead Lover's Digest, a source for Raspberry Blossom Honey.
With shipping and tax it comes out to $148.72 per 60 pounds of honey
which is pretty reasonable.
I made a small batch of Raspberry Blossom mead a few years ago, very
nice varietal honey. The batch was small because I could only get
about 8 pounds of the honey at the time. The honey DOES NOT taste like
raspberries.

Hello My Friends!
This Sunday, December 4, the Corner Table restaurant in South
Minneapolis, will be featuring "beer flights" of Artisanal Imports
Belgian ales with their food. I've eaten there more than once and have
come away satisfied every time, so I am confident that this will be
worth your time and money. The format is simple: you may choose a
flight of three or five beers to be served by itself or paired with a
special menu that chef/owner Scott Pampuch is dreaming up even as we
speak. If he keeps his word on the price of the flights, it'll be a
screaming good deal.
There will be some special gifts for a lucky few, great jazz (from
something called a "turntable" which plays music on "vinyl"
something-or-others), great food and wonderful beer for everyone. There
is no start time, it's a menu option that will be available all
evening.
The Corner Table is open from 5:30-9:30 on Sundays and will be
accepting reservations should you be so inclined. I am undecided as to
when I will be there, but will certainly show up at some point.
Visit their website at www.cornertablerestaurant.com for directions and
insight into the kind of cooking they do there. I'd call it upscale
comfort food.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me at

All the best,
Lanny
