I'm enjoying a Summit Oktoberfest in my new Autumn Brew 2002
glass while reading a Clancy book.
I finished the bottle and not wanting to quit reading,
I stroll down to the beer frige to see what else looks good.
Hmmm. La Trappe Quad. I look at the brew date "46 1986"
and think must be a typo.
I enjoy the quad and continue reading.
I pick up the two empties to recycle and wow, the La Trappe
bottle is heavy.
I boot up Barton's digital scale and found:
Summit bottle: .34 pounds
La Trappe: .79 pounds
So the next time you pick up a 3 pack of La Trappe
and a 6 pack of Summit, and wonder why they weigh the
same, now you know.

Does anyone remember the name of the contest last
Spring? I didn't see my judging points listed for
that competition and want to get it corrected.
I also need to get some San Diego exam points removed.
Thanks,
rick
Apparently, when the software that drives this list was changed, the
setting that blocks nonmembers from posting was left unset. (It's one
of dozens of settings, so it is easy to see how this was overlooked.)
Could it please be fixed? We are getting spammed via this list.

Marc & All.
We should have no problem getting apple juice for the November meeting. In
the past, Nov. has still been quite plesant. The frost brings out the
sugars in the apples. The weather has cooperated with sipping Dave's brews
at Water Tower.
I think mid-October (19th or 20th) would be good for pressing.
If some folk want juice earlier, I am open to an adventure. Already did my
pear pressing for the year.
