This is EXTREMELY last minute, but Dan Murphy (from Inbound) asked for my help. They have around 50 entries that need to be judged. We have the Hopkins VFW (100 Shady Oak Rd) and they will be bringing in sandwiches for lunch (and I assume beer). This is a BJCP event, so points will be given.
If you can help, please respond by emailing me. I completely understand if you can only help out for a short time. Just let me know what times. If you can help on another day next week, let me know which day/s. Thanks a ton!
P.S. This will be divided into about 9-10 style categories of 4-8 beers each, since they have medals already.

Camp Details:
* El Rancho Manana is a multi use site. For the campout we have a
large group space, primitive, portable toilets, community water spigot, no
electricity,
* If you want more luxury, they do have more developed sites, call the
campground to find out more information and rates on those.
* El Rancho has a variety of other perks including a beach, shower
house, water bike rentals, horseback riding etc., all on site, only a short
walk or car ride from our group site.
* Our location is an open space, not a lot of shade, if you have a
portable canopy, you may want to bring it.
Cost and Registration Information:
* Cost is $25 per adult for the two nights. If you wish to extend
your stay before or after, you can do that at a cost of $10 per adult for
the extra night.
* Please call El Rancho for reservations at 320.597.2740 and state you
are with the Minnesota Homebrewers Camp-Out. The sooner the better.

kick back and enjoy good beer and fun beer drinkers.
* Feel free to participate as you wish

welcome and encouraged
* The campfires are always accompanied by the passing around of great
beers for all to sample. Start thinking now about what delectable delights
you'll bring in your cooler.
* The host clubs cook dinner Saturday evening, for all other meals,
you'll want to make sure you bring food for yourself and/or family
* Of course, bring your own camping gear and chairs
* Well behaved dogs welcome
Special Events:
Over the years some traditions have developed and some new ones are added:
* Master of Malt: This fun competition between clubs has been held at
the campout since 1992 (yes this will be year 25). Each club can enter up
to four brews: one for ALES, one for LAGERS, one for BELGIANS, and one for
MEAD/CIDERS. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in all categories
and best of all, you will be competing for the coveted title of Master of
Malt! The win is recorded forever in history for your club AND you get to
spend a full year with the prestigious Master of Malt trophy. It is kind of
like the Stanley Cup (but not really)!
* Sour Hour: A tart happy hour. Sometime in the lull between the
Master of Malt competition and dinner we will get together and break out
some sour beers. It is a very casual thing. Bring and share if you like
sours.
* Bloody Mary Mornings (okay, maybe early afternoon for later risers):
Some of us like to start the day with a good Bloody Mary (remember the old
saying, "you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.") This
is another low key event, if you would like to begin your day this way,
bring your own mix and vodka to begin, but also bring one Bloody Mary
Builder to share with the group (pickles, beef sticks, cheese, celery, the
list is endless). Let's see how creative we can get.
* Saturday Dinner: Saturday's dinner will be prepared and hosted by
the Cloudy Town Brewers and Northern Alestars. This years dinner will be
pulled pork with salad and desserts to accompany. So we can plan for dinner
pleased indicate your participation by e-mailing <mailto:tsarne@msn.com>
tsarne(a)msn.com
If any of this sounds like fun, you'll want to join us at the campout! See
you there.
Cheers!
There are only two tickets left for the Monday, June 13th Saints game. We've disabled the online purchasing option, so you have to e-mail me to find out if you can go. I MIGHT be able to get more tickets near where the original fifty are located, but no promises. John

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Summit Releases 30th Anniversary Keller Pils
The second in a series of four anniversary brews
ST. PAUL, Minn. (May 18, 2016) – Summit Brewing Company
<http://www.summitbrewing.com/> today announces the release of 30th
Anniversary Keller Pils. The second beer in a series of four anniversary
brews will be available on draught and in six-packs and 12-packs of 12-ounce
cans the week of May 16.
The 30th Anniversary Series seeks to showcase the unique qualities and
attributes that have helped drive Summit forward over the last three
decades. A belief in tradition and progress, innovation and heritage, and
above all, an uncompromising approach to quality and consistency have been
integral in SummitÂ’s approach to brewing great beer. Along the way, great
partnerships have developed into great friendships, with suppliers,
distributors, retailers and customers.
SummitÂ’s 30th Anniversary Keller Pils seeks to highlight the unique flavor
characteristics associated with a classic German pilsner malt, while
recognizing the contributions to craft brewing and support for Summit from a
celebrated German craft maltster. Combining that classic pilsner malt with
traditional and modern German hop varieties in SummitÂ’s copper brewhouse has
allowed its brewers to produce a superb German-style pilsner, served
unfiltered to allow for more flavor and character in the final glass.
The Weyermann Specialty Malting Company, located in Bamberg, Germany, has
been supplying Summit with specialty malts for many years. Weyermann has
made a concerted effort to safeguard the future of the Barke variety, one of
the most unique malting barley varieties and perfect for artisanal craft
beers. Although superseded by more modern, higher-yielding cultivars, Barke
contributes malty-sweet and honey undertones, and is particularly sought
after as a base for classical pilsners.
Summit has combined the flavor elements of Barke malt with the Tettnang hop,
a slightly spicy and traditional noble hop variety, supplied to Summit from
Minnesota-based Brewers Supply Group. A final addition of the recently
developed Hallertau Melon hop variety, supplied from Germany by S.S.
Steiner, provides a hint of gentle citrus in the final beer.
Wyeast Laboratories, based in Oregon, sourced a traditional private
collection Munich lager yeast strain, the final element required to create a
classical German pils. Two weeks of cool fermentation followed by six weeks
of cold maturation help provide outstanding drinkability and complexity.
“For our anniversary year, we wanted to focus on the three C's of quality:
consistency, creativity and community,” said head brewer Damian McConn. “By
working closely with our malt, hop and yeast suppliers, weÂ’re able to
produce four special beers that exemplify this motto.”
