Thanks again to everyone that entered the 4th Annual Winter Carnival Beer Dabbler Home Brew contest. Huge thanks go to Northern Brewer, the Nomad World Pub, Stanleys, and the Republic for their sponsorship. I also would like to thank all the volunteers that helped with judging and stewarding on Saturday---we can't have fantastic contests like this without all your help!
If you were not able to attend the award announcement on Saturday at the Nomad, your scoresheets (and hopefully medal/prizes) will be sent to you later this week.
We had 116 entries, which were put into 12 categories. There were many very nice beers entered and I hope you all will consider entering and helping out at future contests. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks again!

Just wondering the date of the February MHBA meeting. I would love to drop off score sheets (and hopefully medals) for those who entered the Winter Carnival Beer Dabbler Home Brew contest. (The results will be posted today.) -Gera
RE: Staples Mills... I have no source for this "gossip," but have been told at different times by people in the industry that Staples Mills was brewing with extract and/or having wort shipped to them pre-brewed and then pitch yeast on site. Anyone know anything about that?

15-16
This is the last call for judges for the 30th Annual Kansas City Bier
Meisters Homebrew Competition.
Registration for judges (and entries) closes this Thursday February 7. The
direct link to the competition online registration is here:
http://www.kcbiermeisters.org/comp/
For those of you who have already registered or who plan to, information on
the Spiegelau Glassware seminar, banquet, and hotel discount are at the link
below.
http://www.kcbiermeisters.org/competitions/kcbm-competition.html
The glassware seminar will be held prior to BOS judging so if you are a high
ranked judge and would like to attend, feel free to sign up. The glassware
seminar only has a few spots and will sell out within the next couple of
days.
There are still a good number of spots left for the banquet but we expect to
sell it out so don't delay too long. The banquet will be catered by Local
Pig who were recently featured in the New York Times and Wall Street
Journal.
I look forward to seeing many of you in a couple of weeks!
Cheers,
John
