Subject: Call for judges and stewards ~ MN State Fair Homebrew Competition ~ 5 days left to register
There are only 5 more days left to register for the MN State Fair Homebrew Competition.
Please consider registering to judge and/or steward. Judging takes place on Aug 17 and Aug 18 and we could use all the help we can get.
http://www.mnstatefair.brewcompetition.com
You will receive a state fair ticket, raffle prizes, and an after party for volunteering.
If you know of anyone that would like to get involved in judging but has never done it before we will be holding a "how to judge" seminar on Aug 9 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Northern Brewer Minneapolis. This class is only offered to registered volunteers for the state fair, more information will be given once registration for the contest has closed.
Hope to see a lot of you there!

Also, the MHBA September meeting will be at Fulton Brewery on Monday, September 17th from 6-9 pm. These guys have a special place in my heart, since a few years ago, 3 of th 4 took the BJCP exam prep class that I organize. Very cool to see what they have been doing with their brewery. This is considered a private event at the brewery, so we are able to bring in home brew, but the tap room will not be open for sales. (Don't worry, there will be samples of Fulton's beers though.) I also plan to have a food truck available. Please invite friends or family interested.

Since Midwest is a drop-off site, don't forget to enter your beers, meads, and ciders for Byggvir's Big Beer Cup at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival from now through August 12th. Mike Hoops from Town Hall has offered to brew the best beer of the show (please see rules on the website), so we are already heading to a record number of entries! Please also sign up to help judge or steward. We will be judging onsite at the Fest, so helping out gets you plenty of time to enjoy the day there. We welcome judges of all skill levels, but experienced BJCP judges are in demand to make sure we can keep an easy-going, learning experience atmosphere during the event. www.rennfestbeercup.com

Subject: [mnbrewers] MHBA Club Library
Hey there, just wanted to remind everyone about the club library. It
doesn't always have the greatest presence @ our meetings, but it is worth
noting that it is full of resources for new and experienced brewers alike.
The link to the library list is:

If you have books out as of now, let me know what book you have if your name
is not listed next to it. I will make an effort to let everyone know what
meetings I will be at so we can make an exchange.
Happy Brewing and have a great Big Brew Weekend!
