Hi All,
After the meeting on Wednesday we hammered out the final details for the MN All Club Campout. Everything you need to know is listed below.
Cheers,
Tom
MN All Club Campout
Date: August 5th and 6th
Location: Nushka Group Campground, on Cass Lake (directions below)
Cost: Depends on participation but likely between $20 and $30 for the whole weekend including camping, firewood, and Saturday dinner
Reservations: Not required for camping but to get an idea for food please use http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Z7FDGWF by Wednesday July 27th.
We are doing a very similar thing to last time we hosted and holding it at a group camp on Cass Lake named Nushka. It is a great location on a lake with sandy beach area (at least last time we were there), open sided shelter, and plenty of nature all around. There is room for campers and tents. With all the nature comes no electricity or running water but these are nothing you will miss much.
Highlights:
* Exellent camping
* Nice lake
* Saturday dinner of pulled pork
* Large campfires
* MoM competition (Master of Malt - Defending champ PHC's Dick Nilles)
* Great Beer!
* Awesome bunch of homebrewers from all over MN
Like I mentioned above, for the Saturday dinner we will be doing slow smoked barbeque pulled pork and to go with it there will be corn on the cob, potato salad, and chips. We are trying to get numbers so we can plan appropriately so please use this survey monkey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Z7FDGWF by Wednesday July 27th to let us know you are coming. We will plan for extra so if you do not get your numbers recorded in time or end up being last minute, don't feel bad about asking to partake.
Of course do not forget the Master of Malt competition. Every club can put in one each lager, ale, Belgian and mead to compete for best in category and overall Master of Malt. Since the PHC took the prize last year we will also be running the competition and if you can contact me with questions I will forward to the appropriate person. If you were a winner from last year and have the traveling plaques, please make sure they get to the campout.
I think that covers it. If I forgot something and you have any other questions, email me at throan(a)yahoo.com<mailto:throan@yahoo.com> and/or the email address this came from. Otherwise, if you enjoy camping and beer come out and have fun. Hope to see you there.
Tom
Directions
Take US Hwy 10 East to Detroit Lakes and then continue East on MN Hwy 34 to Walker. At Walker take MN Hwy 371 north to Cass Lake. Then take US Hwy 2 east 5.5 miles to CR 10. Follow CR 10 North until you see FR 2360 which also could be called Cass Bluff Loop Road. The campground is located about 1.2 miles west on FR 2360 and on the left.

Ladies and Gentlebrewers,
My name is Drew Roby, and I met some of you at the Saint Louis
Brewer's Heritage Festival earlier this summer. It gives me great
pleasure to announce that the Kirksville BrewFest website is now up
and fully functional, and we are accepting registrations starting this
very instant.
Our eventual goal is to make this the largest homebrew competition in
the Midwest. If you would kindly pass this information on to the
members of your respective clubs (or anyone else you know), I would
much appreciate it. This is not just an event for homebrewers, it is
a celebration of the Homebrewing Community and as such, we'd like to
connect with our friends, neighbors, and the public at large. So if
you know any other beer enthusiasts who aren't brewing their own and
just want to have a good time, or if you'd like to attend without
submitting a beer, you can load up the van and haul yourselves up to
Kirksville, Missouri, for a right old good time. Hope to see you all
there!
Also, be sure to like Kirksville BrewFest on Facebook... tell your
friends!
Peace, Love, and Homebrew,
Drew Roby
Oh, the vital info:
Date: Saturday, October 1st
Time: Judging in the morning, public tasting (for the People's Choice
award) in the afternoon, live music and awards in the evening.
Location: TBD, will be up on the website.
Need a job in the brewing game?

Subject: Brewers Supply Group is hiring
Hi Al,
I hope all’s well with you. Would you mind please forwarding the employment announcement to the Minnesota Homebrewers’ List? Thanks so much!
Brewers Supply Group has recently acquired Crosby Baker which includes a new set customers service and homebrewing related products to supply. We need a couple of good customer service folks to help us manage taking orders over the phone from our Shakopee offices. The most important aspect of the job is a good phone demeanor with our brewer customers, good communication with our salespeople and warehouse managers, and accurate data entry.
Pay is reasonable, the benefits are outstanding, and the home brewing ingredients are cheap!
If you, or you know someone, who would be perfect for this job please have them email their resume to Malissia Urlaub. murlaub(a)rahr.com.
You can also call me with questions. 651-357-2474

Hello All,
I was given a large case of Grain Belt Siesta Ware glasses, the same as the
one pictured in the link below.
http://www.odinartcollectables.com/images/grainbelt_mug.jpg
Does anyone know any history on these glasses or if they are of any value?
Thanks,
John

Hark fellow homebrewers!
The fifth annual Byggvir's Big Beer Cup is on the horizon! This year the
competition will be brought to you by Jack Of All Brews and the Minnesota
Homebrewers Association.
For those who haven't tried out this competition before: Categories are
limited to those styles that would have been available during roughly the
Renaissance period (sorry folks, no double IPA here!) There are two
specialty categories for Historic beers, (hopped and unhopped,) that should
challenge you to try making something unusual.
Entry registration and beer drop-off will start August 20 and go through
September 12. Entries will be accepted by our fine sponsors Midwest
Homebrewing Supplies, Northern Brewer and Still H20 during these periods.
Judging will take place September 24-25th at the Minnesota Renaissance
Festival. We encourage people to help out with judging and stewarding, and
you will get free entry to the Festival on the days you help out! We will
provide a t-shirt or you can come in costume if you have one.
More information and registration is on line at www.rennfestbeercup.com. We
recommend using Paypal for on line payment this year. Our website is
currently active for information, but will not be open to entries or
volunteer requests until August 20.
Until then, drink a homebrew, hoist a turkey leg and shout Huzzah!
