Hi there,
I just bought my first kit, and will be making beer this coming weekend. I
am currently reading How to Brew by Morrison but I am really interested in
reading "Brew Your Own" magazines. If you have any backstock magazines
lying around that you are done with I'd love to buy them from you ( or you
could give them away from the kindness of your heart :) Send me an email,
Evgeny.bashirov(a)gmail.com
Thanks,
Evgeny
A friend of mine has 6 cases of empty beer bottles - cleaned and labels removed.
He live in Ramsey and would prefer to give them to a homebrewer rather than recycle them.
Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Subject: 2011 Land of the Muddy Water Homebrew Competition
Dear Fellow Homebrewers,
(Administrators, please forward this to your club list)
Announcing the 17th annual Land of the Muddy Waters Homebrew Competition.
Complete details can be found at www.mugzhomebrew.org/lotmw
This AHA/BJCP-sanctioned contest is organized by MUGZ (Mississippi Unquenchable Grail Zymurgists).
LOTMW 2011 is one of the last qualifying events for Midwest Homebrewer of the Year.
We are in need of judges for LOTMW 2011 to be held on November 12th, 2011. This year’s competition will again be held at Blue Cat Brew Pub, in historic downtown Rock Island, IL.
As in the past, we will be hedonically judging a special category called the Land of the Muddy Water, as well as having a label contest. Refer to our website for complete details www.mugzhomebrew.org/lotmw
We anticipate the need to have enough judges to cover 275+ entries. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided at 8 AM the morning of the competition as well as lunch between sessions at the Blue Cat.
Judges with walk-in entries must pre-register them before the entry deadline as stated on the website. Please have walk-in entries there no later than 8:00 AM.
Judging will begin at 9:00 AM and we expect to wrap up for the awards ceremony and festivities between 4PM and 5PM. For more information, visit www.mugzhomebrew.org/lotmw
If you plan on judging please take the time to register as a judge on our website
Key Dates:
Oct 24th - Nov. 4th. Entries accepted
Nov. 12th Competition day
Thanks,
Scott Welch, Organizer LOTMW 2011 og1100(a)yahoo.com
When is the deadline? If it is out a bit, perhaps we can get some photos at the meeting on Nov. 5th at Barley John's?

Hey Chris,
Sorry it took us some time to get back to you, the Great American Beer Festival really took priority around here for a while if you know what I mean. We all
love the GABF a little too much.
Anyways, I have attached the homebrew club questionnaire this time, and don’t forget to throw a few cool pictures my way to showcase your club! Funny pics,
awesome setup pics, anything you want you get to put in. Again, here is a link to past club stories so you can get an idea of what we do:
http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/pages/community/clubs/club-stories
Thanks again Chris, and congrats on being selected for our featured homebrew club! I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Danny G

Folks,
I am an organic hops farmer in Western Virginia and would like your organization to know that I have 5 varieties of Virginia-grown dried organic hops available for sale.
Thank you,
David Bernard
MadHops Farm
Just wanted to update everyone that we have reached the 250 gallon mark on
cider requests, which is the maxiumum ammount that the tote can hold. I will
be contacting the orchard next week and hope to have more details and will
also clarify that 250 gallons is really the volume of the tote (there was a
small amount of head space last year, perhaps we can get a bit more).
Cheers!
Jonathan Beckel
Greetings,
This year we will be doing another Club Cider buy from the same orchard as
last year. Aside from the terrible winter weather and the brief loss of
feeling in my hands last years haul was a big success and the quality of the
cider was fantastic. As of now the tentative date is the first weeks of
November (probably on a Saturday) but the orchard is very busy at the moment
and we won't have a solidified date until the end of October. The price will
be $4 a gallon again and you will need to supply your own vessel(s) (ideally
5 gallon buckets). I will inquire upon the varieties of apples used once the
orchard knows more. Please let me know how much you would like in the next
couple weeks so we can get this ball rolling, ideally in 5 gallon
quantities. I will update you all near the end of the month when I have
confirmed dates. Club members will get first preference. Please let me know
if you have any questions. Thanks!
