We are getting an insane amount of people asking for it, so I thought I'd let you guys know we have the New Glarus Wisconsin Cran-bic in. We are getting a lot so I don't anticipate having any availability issues.

I've just been to Minneapolis Oxygen at 8905 Lyndale Ave in Bloomington and
they have offered to give members of MHBA a discount on CO2.
Tell them you're a member of MHBA and show them your card. You'll pay $8
instead of $10.14, plus tax for a 5 lb CO2 exchange.
They're also open Saturday mornings! Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 - Monday - Friday
AND 9:00 - 12:00 - Saturday

For the fifth, sixth, or seventh year (club historian?), we had fantastic weather, large crowds, and generous volunteers at the MN Homebrewers Association's National Teach-a-Friend-to-Homebrew Day event.
Big thanks to Barley John's Brewpub for once again hosting us! Thanks, John, Collin, and BJ staff.
Thanks to Midwest Supplies, Northern Brewer, and Brew & Grow for yet again giving away equipment and ingredient kits. The winners were thrilled! Thank you, Dave, Pete, Chris, Dan, and Kevin!
Thank you to John Tracy, Chip Walton, and Gera LaTour for giving demonstrations to the interested neophytes.
Thank you to Chris Smith and Mark Glewwe for yet again delivering all the cider.
Thank you to Chris Smith and Jon Messier for going on the television to promote our humble event.
And thank you to the folks who ran out and bought ice!
Finally, thank you to everyone who came out--it's not an event without participants.

Last reminder of the MHBA's Teach-a-Friend-to-Homebrew Day event at Barley John's this Saturday, 10-2. Homebrew is welcome, and we'll have three extract batches brewing as demonstrations for the uninitiated. Thanks to Brew & Grow, Midwest Supplies, and Northern Brewer, we'll once again have three entire starter kits with ingredients to give away as door prizes. Vine Park Brewing Co. has contributed to the door prize pool as well.
Al Boyce has generously brought all-grain equipment and bottling equipment the past five(?) years, but it's time for a new volunteer. Who is willing to bring the aforementioned equipment, lay it out on a table, and explain it to the masses? They LOVE capping empty bottles!
The annual cider pick-up will happen Saturday as well.
Thanks,
John

I just did a short interview on homebrewers going commercial with a reporter
from the Southwest Journal. It's only distributed in SW Minneapolis. The
issue will be out on 11/16. If anyone happens to see it in those free
distribution stands, please get me a couple of copies.
Thanks!

FROM AHA TECH TALK:
Hi All,
The AHA is extremely excited to launch a completely new website for
homebrewers, replacing the old beertown.org/homebrewing site. Check it
out at www.homebrewersassociation.org .
HomebrewerAssociation.org is a dream of the American Homebrewers
Association (AHA) Governing Committee that has finally come to fruition
after many years of discussion. The AHA staff and the Brewers Association
web team have logged many hundreds of hours of work to put this site
together for you.
The goal of HomebrewersAssociation.org is to provide the homebrewing
community with an online resource for all things homebrewing. With that in
mind, much of the site is devoted to user-generated content. The AHA
Forum, an online discussion group for all topics of homebrewing, is open
to all homebrewers. It’s like an online version of TechTalk.
The AHA homebrewopedia is a wiki-based resource, where homebrewers from
around the world are invited to share their recipes and brewing knowledge.
Along the lines of building community, we have sections of the website for
you to provide us with photos and descriptions of your brewing equipment,
bios of your fellow homebrewers, and profiles of your homebrew club.
Go to Pimp My System in the AHA Forum to add descriptions and images of
your homebrew system and gadgets. While you are there, go to the
Homebrewer Bios folder to post images and text telling the world about a
homebrewer we should all know better (that could be you!). We will post a
new system or gadget and a Brewer of the Week on the homepage of
HomebrewersAssociation.org every week.
In addition to articles geared towards helping homebrew clubs with club
events and management, the new Homebrew Club Resources pages also have a
section on homebrew Club Profiles. We encourage you to post a description
and photographs of your club to share with the community. Once a week we
will post a new Club Profile on the homepage of
HomebrewersAssociation.org. Club Resources also has sections for clubs to
post their club benefits and club newsletters.
As members of the AHA, you can update your membership information directly
from the website. We will soon be adding Members-Only content to the site
as an added membership benefit.
The success of www.HomebrewersAssociation.org depends on the participation
of the entire homebrewing community, but especially the members of the
AHA. With that in mind, I urge you to search the site over and begin
contributing in the AHA Forum, on homebrewopedia, and by posting to Pimp My System, Homebrewer Bios, and Club Profiles.
We hope you like the new site!
