Howdy,
I am putting out a feeler for a grain mill if anyone has an extra,
or one they don't need anymore, I would like to buy it from you.
Cheers!

This is a great opportunity to taste and judge beers from our entire region - nine states in all! (AR, IA, KS, MN, MO, ND, NE, SD, and WI ). There will be judges from many states as well, so it's also a great chance to judge with some new people. Finally, it's a great honor for the Twin Cities to be chosen to hold the AHA National qualifier - so let's show them that we deserve the reputation that we have! Send Steve Fletty an email today to sign up: fletty(a)umn.edu
While you're at it, the deadline for entering beers for the competition is this FRIDAY! NO SHIPPING! You can drop them off over at Northern Brewer.
Here's the competition website:
http://www.beertown.org/events/nhc/index.html
Here's the URL for entering online:
http://www.brewingcompetition.com/NHC/nhc.php
Let's have a BIG turnout for the MN Home Brewers Association, both in entries and judges!

My bike club is putting on a fund raiser for an amateur bicycle racing series on the State Fairgrounds this Summer.
What better way to raise money for bicycle racing than to put on a Belgian Beer Tasting in conjunction with TV coverage of the Tour of Flanders one day Spring cycling classic race?

Beers have been donated by Artisanal Imports, Hohensteins, Inc., Duvel Moorgat USA, and Flat Earth Brewing Co.
People can save $5 by buying tickets in advance at http://www.c6rs.com/ToF

I have received a call from the folks at the Great Taste of the Midwest, and they have once again offered us 50 advanced sale group tickets for the event. For those that don't know - to get individual tickets to this is nearly impossible. They only sell 5000 total, minus those granted for group sales and local distributors (Madison bars, restaurants and liquor stores.) Those tickets remaining are sold by LOTTERY, for people who have their order and money in and postmarked no earlier than May 1. (It's a PITA!)
Here's a link to info about the event:
http://www.mhtg.org/
You can reserve your tickets for the MhBA group sales by sending me a check by 4/18 - $35 per ticket, 4 tickets maximum per club member. Make the check out to "Al Boyce", because they only want to see ONE check from the group. You can send me your money by PayPal if you like, but please add $2.05 for each ticket ($37.05 total per ticket) to account for the commission that PayPal takes out of the transfer - last year I had to eat the loss.
$35 per ticket ($37.05 via PayPal - to alboyce(a)bigfoot.com)
4 tickets per person max - (If there are any left on 4/14, I will open it up to any amount - so DON'T PROCRASTINATE!)
Deadline: April 18
First come, first served! Your money reserves your tickets.
I will put out an email when the 50 are gone, and I will notify you and rip up any checks that arrive after the 50 are sold.)
Tickets usually come sometime in the summer - early to mid July.
Let the fun begin!
