Hi to all,
My wife has asked me to inquire about the upcoming Christmas Party and if there
will be people bringing their children to the event? She would like to bring
our daughter (6 1/2 yrs. of age) if there are other children attending.
Thanks!

I have an extra pine wine rack (the one NB sells for $90) for sale. I
purchased two, but am now kegging my wine, so I would like to sell one. It
is in great shape and is assembled (no small feat!). I am asking $40 for
it. It holds 120 bottles of wine.
I also have tons of wine bottles to give away. Some have labels, others
don't. They're in cardboard wine cases. FREE!! :-)
Please let me know if you're interested in these items. I also could spare
a few one-gallon jugs with the wide mouths. FREE!
Thanks,
John
Hello-
I was asked to post information about our home brewing competition on the
local brewing mail lists. Is this how I would go about it?
Attached is the information on our contest. An advertisement is also
available.

What could be better than a meat raffle? You buy a ticket or two,
wait and see and—if you are lucky—you get to take home delicious meat.
How about if that meat raffle also includes Belgian Beer, Wonderful
Food and Music??
Join me at the 331 Club, NE Minneapolis tomorrow, Sunday, November
25th at 6:00 for GASTRO NON GRATA, a very special event with beer,
food, music and god only knows what else.
If I understand the format correctly, I will be on stage first,
warming up the crowd with three or four samples of Belgian Beer. Then
a band will play for a bit, then Scott Pampuch, the EVIL FOOD GENIUS
OF KINGFIELD will get on the stage and cook an EIGHT COURSE MEAL on a
CANDLE!
Or something like that.
Anyway, it proves to be surreal, is bound to be fun, and did I
mention BELGIAN BEER!
Plus, it's early enough in the day that even geezers like me can
whoop it up and still get to work the next day.
http://www.331club.com/home.phpwww.gastronongrata.com (an old poster, but you get the vibe)
Hope to see you there!
Lanny
Please forward this to anyone you might think would be intrigued,
interested or appalled.
2007 Holiday Potluck
Where: CSPS Hall - 383 Michigan St., St. Paul - Above the Glockenspiel
Restaurant - corner of Michigan St & West 7th
When: Friday, December 14 from 6:00 PM-10:00PM
What to bring:
Food: Bring a dish to share (the theme is dishes prepared with BEER),
copies of the recipe, serving utensils and extension cords if necessary. A
"People's Choice" award will be given for the best potluck dish with beer as
an ingredient.
Beer to share: Bring any beer, mead or cider you wish to share. There will
be a "Peoples Choice" award given for the best beer, mead or cider.
Bottles, growlers or keg are welcome. The style of the month for December
is Flanders Red and Weizenbock, so don't forget to bring yours along to earn
your SOTM sticker for December. You can also bring any Pilsner beers from
November's SOTM. Don't forget a small tasting glass, some plastic glasses
will be available in case of emergency.
Beer to exchange: Bring up to 24 bottles to exchange with your fellow
homebrewers. Label each bottle with your name, email address, style and
beer name (if it has one). Everyone who participated draws a number and
then selects a bottle in order until they receive as many bottles as they
brought.
Family and Friends: This is a family friendly event, so bring your
significant other, kids, and any friends/family that have ever expressed an
interest in homebrewing or beer. Just to be clear you or your guest don't
have to be a club member to attend(a few people were wondering).
Since this is one of the most attended gatherings of the year, it's a great
opportunity to get out and meet your fellow homebrewers. If you have not
made it to a meeting , the Holiday potluck is a perfect chance to try some
great homebrew, delicious food and exchange homebrew with others.
If you have not renewed you membership or would like to sign-up for a club
membership, our member director should be on hand to collect your money and
hand out your new membership cards. Which for those who don't are good for
a 10% discount at the local homebrew shops(Northern Brewer, Midwest Supply,
Brew & Grow, & Still-H2O)
Additionally, the beers brewed during last month's "teach a friend to
homebrew" will be available for all to try.
I am also looking for some volunteers to help set up tables and chairs
beforehand. If you are able to be there 10-15 minutes early send me an
email.
If you have any questions or need directions send me an email at
csmitty42(a)yahoo.com.
Thanks,
Chris Smith

__._,_.___
Here here....I'll drink to that.
As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom,
in water there is bacteria.
In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated
that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would
have absorbed more than! 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria
found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.
However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or
tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go
through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.
Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, < BR>than to drink water and be full of shit.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:
I'm doing it as a public service
