I have a buddy who is building a draft beer set up in his old
refrigerator. Please contact me if you have any used equipment,
regulator, kegs, etc. that you are interested in parting with. I can
hook you up with him to work out a deal.
Cheers!

Anyone interested in a retake of the BJCP exam? Fargo is hosting an exam on
June 3. Email Ray Taylor if you are interested.

Subject: [phc-club] BJCP Exam - Fargo
Hello beer lovers,
The BJCP exam is rapidly approaching. Once again, I have been designated as
the official exam coordinator, proctor and beer procurer. As such, I would
like to have an exact head count of those intending to take the exam. Susan
has a few people in her judging class who plan on taking the test and we
have a contingent coming down from Duluth. A few other locals or
out-of-towners may also intend to be there.
This is a reminder...
Please let me know who will be there on exam Saturday. I need to know
exactly how many people will take the test so I can have enough beer and
materials available for the examinees and the reference judges.
I'd like a list of names of the Duluth contingent as well as a list from
Susan's class. If you are not in either of those groups then contact me ASAP
regarding your intentions to take the exam. The most difficult aspect of
this whole process is selecting the beers to be judged and having enough of
the samples to go around.
Thanks.
Ray
Ps. Please get your exam fees to me (or Susan) as soon as you can. Make your
checks out to the BJCP or pass along cash. Your account will be credited
with either.
Pps. Good luck! Have fun!

I received the following in the mail from the distributor of Coopers
homebrewing products. It's an offer of a newsletter and an entry in a
contest for a trip to the Great American Beer Festival.
===============================
Good Day!
How would you and your club members like to receive a four-page color
glossy newsletter
each quarter filled with brewing tips, fun brewing stories, interviews,
brewing recipes
and product information, absolutely *free?*
Ok, Here's Another Question...
How would you or one of your club members like to win a trip for two to
the 2006 Great American Beer Festival in Boulder, Colorado?
As you might imagine, one is related to the other. Between now and July
31^st , 2006 each club member who signs up to receive the quarterly
North American Coopers Club Newsletter will be automatically entered to
win a trip for two to the 2006 Great American Beer Festival in Boulder,
including airfare, hotel, transportation and $200 cash.
Last issue of the newsletter we wrapped up a two-part interview with Dr
Jon Meneses, Master Brewer at the Coopers Brewery, on how he goes about
creating a new commercial beer. We also answered email questions
provided by homebrewers. Future issues will include profiles of various
homebrewing products and discount offers on brewing products. Best of
all, it's absolutely free!
Visit us at _www.cascadiabrew.com,_ click on the starburst and sign up
to receive your quarterly Coopers Club Newsletter. You will also be
automatically entered to win the August 1^st drawing for the GABF trip.
This is where you will also find complete contest rules. If you or any
of your members already receive the Coopers Club Newsletter you are
already entered.
Don't wait! Pass this along to your fellow club members. The next issue
of the North American Coopers Club Newsletter mails in July. Sign up,
get your newsletter, get entered into the drawing... .oh yeah, and brew
some beer!
Cheers!

My apologies to those of you with outdoor activities tonight--
I told the powers that be to hit us with the nasty weather today so that we could be allowed glorious weather NEXT Thursday for the game!
For directions, click on this: (unless your filter strips the HTML)
http://saintsbaseball.com/tickets/seating/
Next Thursday, May 18th, we'll be partying with the Saints at Midway Stadium in Saint Paul. The tailgating lot opens at 4:00, so arrive any time after that. I'll be there with a grill at 4:15, and if anyone else (Steve P.? Did I see you had the same portable grill as I have?) would bring one, we'll be set for grilling. We will grill and drink homebrew in tailgate spot #5, which is on the far (north) side of the pay lot, which is immediately to the left (west) of the staduim. You do not need to pay for parking. You can park for free on Energy Park Drive and just walk your food, chairs, cooler, etc. across the pay lot to meet us. You do not need tickets to come to tailgate spot #5.
Regardless of weather, if you claimed a ticket, you owe for it!
Please bring grillables, homebrew, chairs, something to share (salad, dessert, etc.). The club will provide plates, napkins, silverware, etc.
There is one ticket left for $10. You can come even if you haven't spoken up for a ticket! You can either just tailgate or buy a ticket and come sit with us inside. It's so early in the season that it won't be crowded, so you'll be able to join us without incident. Please take the remaining club ticket before going out shopping for one.
If you have questions, drink four homebrews. If at that point you can still remember your question and have the ambition left to e-mail me, then I'll try to answer.
We'll see folks on Thursday!
