I called Inver Grove Heights and was able to obtain the needed values. I have
updated the word document and attached it to this e-mail.
I also used Promash to calc the values for Ca & Mg from the hardness, let me
know if they seem out of line or I did something wrong. Strangely, I
calced the
Alkalinity using promash (input values were Hardness and pH) and the
values were
way off from what was given to me by the city.
Please update your city if you have reliable sources. Then mail back to the
clubs. I will post this on sphbc.org soon.
Thanks for the info guys!

OOPS! Thanks Jonathan!
Everyone note - the date is JUNE 15-18 for the All-Club campout, and we
still need to know how many are going.
Beth and I are still going! :-D

You listed the wrong date - 19-21 June is Monday - Wednesday on My
Calendar
They reserved the park for Thursday night to Sunday morning 15 - 18 June
with the Tasting and the other main events occurring Saturday the 17th
BTW - the bar in Effie is called the Neighborhood Tavern

The annual All-Minnesota Club campout
will be hosted this year by the Boreal
Brewers, based out of Bemidji, Minnesota.
It will be held at the Scenic State Park, east
of Bigfork, MN 56628, on the Scenic
Highway off Highway 169. This event
includes: the infamous "Effie Tasting" at
the Neighborhood Tavern in Effie.
As last year's winner, Gera "Mistress of
Malt" Exire LaTour will be coordinating
this year's competition. The categories are:
All Ales, All Lagers, All Meads, All
Belgians, and Cask Ales.
RSVP!!! RSVP to me, or to this list if you are going! The Boreal
Brewers
need to know how many to cook for on Saturday night!
Beth and I will be there. Who else is going?

We need however rough, an estimate of numbers, so that we can buy food
for
the saturday night dinner. The competition and tasting will both have to
be
at the neighborhood tavern tent in Effie. 13.5 miles north of the park.
We
have tried to work with the Park bureaucracy and that is the final
outcome.
no "official" consumption of alcoholic beverages in a state park. So our
proposal is to judge from noon to 2, taste from 2 to five, and head to
Scenic for the evening dinner. There is a vary good country swing group
playing a few miles from our campsite, starting at seven. Clearwater Hot
Club, is outstanding and we will try to post a site for tickets.
Dinner will be smoked turkey legs, coleslaw, beans, bread, Boreal
Brewers
Cake for desert wth icecream. $5.00 for those that want to contribute to
cover our cost. Potluck breakfast by fire ring sunday morning. Bring
some
ingredients and we will have big fry pans to make it up. CP

The City Pages Beer Fest is coming up Saturday June 3rd from 5pm-9pm just
outside of Calhoun Square. Tickets are $25 in advance and $28 at the door.
You can buy tickets at MGM in Calhoun Village, Plymouth, or Minnetonka or
from Ticketmaster (save the Ticketmaster fees by going to the MGM
locations).
There are over 100 different beers from both local and national brewers
along with plenty of food and music. Things get a bit cramped with everyone
packed into the parking lot but it's always a blast.

Hi,
Sorry if you are getting this twice, technical glitch this morning.
The Happy Gnome patio is now open. Pretty much the same size as the old
Chang's patio but it has been completely rebuilt. It's big, it's
beautiful and it's the place to be this Memorial Day weekend. And to
celebrate we are having a patio party next Thursday, June 1. Live music
from 5-8 and the introduction of the newest Surly beer, CynicAle.
And unlike some patios in town, The Happy Gnome and The Muddy Pig serve
great beers on the patio in real glass.
Now a blatant pitch for donations. On June 10-11 I will be riding my
10th MS150, a fund raiser for the MS Society of Minnesota. Two days on
a bicycle riding 150 miles from Duluth to White Bear Lake. If I can
ride 150 miles in generally crazy weather the least you can do is make a
donation to support the cause. Most people donate $25-$100, whatever
you feel comfortable with. You can write a check payable to "MS
Society" and drop it off at The Muddy Pig or, even easier, go to
www.mssociety.org <http://www.mssociety.org/> , click on epledge, enter
Mark van Wie and make your donation online. Thank you for your support.
Have a fun and safe weekend.
Mark

This will be especially sad for those who made the WI brewpub trip last fall. Good man--good brewer--good pub. Fare ye well.

Hey John,
My mom gave me some sad news you can pass on to the folks who made the Wisconsin beer bus tour last fall.

Hey Guys and Gals
Have you heard about the next couple of MHBA club events? Phirst
Phriday is May 26 at Paul's Place starting @ 5:00 and June 3rd is our
club meeting at Midwest.
I don't want to steal the thunder of the club meeting but June 3rd also
happens to be a mid-point birthday for yours truly. I can't officially
call it a birthday party but I can call it a beer event that coincides
with my birthday. Very likely we can share a competition evaluation
sample or two and I promise not to bring my Trombone.
Hope you can make it to these next great MHBA events.
I could be coerced into baking a carrot cake but don't even think about
candles.
