Congratulations to the winners of the first ever CBS Night of the Living
Ales cask beer tasting.
The three most favored beers, by popular vote, at the tasting were:
3rd place: Flossmoor Station Hop Smack
2nd place: Three Floyds Brian Boru
1st place: Kalamazoo Brewing Bell's Two Hearted
Besides a dizzying quantity of great cask beer, attendees were presented
with an abundance of food, both from our hosts, Goose Island, and from
local cheese and sausage artisans.
A big thanks to all of the breweries who donated beer, the folks at
Goose Island, and to all attendees.
Be on the look out for order forms to our June event, the CBS
Weizen/Weisswurst brunch. This mid-day event will feature beers made in
the Bavarian Weizen style (with a possible German Pils to keep things
interesting) and a German brunch including weisswurst.
In order to ensure CBS members have a chance to attend this and future
events, we'll be offering a members'-only window prior to general ticket
sales. Check your mail boxes soon for the brunch order form.
Not a member yet? Join CBS by printing the membership form at
www.chibeer.org and mailing it along with a check so you can get first
crack at upcoming events.

JUST ONE MORE DAY until the 2nd annual MHBA Chili Contest and Swap Meet!
(Imagine an echo effect like radio announcements)
The excitement is overwhelming - the bragging rights and Chief Chili Pepper
are once again up for grabs.
If you love making or eating chili - this is the event for you
It all starts at 1PM Saturday March 5th the CSPS hall in St Paul
(again, imagine a reverberating echo effect for CSPS Hall)
And if this wasn't enough excitement..... we will add a Swap Meet
Bring in you new or gently used brewing equipment and find it a new home.
You have something you don't need anymore - bring it in
You want an excuse to upgrade to something better - bring it in
Trade, Sell, Buy
Personally I hope to find a counter pressure bottle filler and a magnetic
stirrer this year.
And if that isn't enough, since this is a Beer club there will be....BEER!
Bring in some beer to share and beer to pair with chili.
See you Saturday
