Happy New Year to All
We are pleased to release 3 new beers for your enjoyment.
Sterling Select 5.8%
This is a favorite of the brewers. An ale brewed at lager temps to end up with a hoppy pilsener flavor. Golden in color clean and crisp in flavor a very nice session beer.
Black Paddle Porter 5.2%
This is a special release porter we brew every other year. Much more full-bodied and malty then the other porters we brew. A rich chocolate flavor comes across with a smooth finish.
Skyline Imperial Pale Cask Conditioned. 8.0%
A festive strong pale ale poured in English Pins or 1/2 Pints from the handpump at the bar.
Come on down on Thursday night for $8.00 pitchers from 9-12pm. Check www.brewhouse.net for more info.
Thanks for your support.

Ladies and Gentlemen how is your winter going? Did you get everything you wanted for Christmas? Have you fully recovered from the holiday season? Resolutions working out well? Need a lift? How about a beer?
Summit Brewing and The Minnesota Homebrewers Association cordially invite our members to attend a formal meeting this Saturday at 3:30 at Summit in St. Paul. The brewery is located south of west 7th in the Crosby Business Center. Show up on time, participate in the meeting, ask questions, and pretend your home brewery just expanded.
One of the most important things about beer is keeping yeast happy since yeast make the bitter wort into beer. Our host and owner Mark Stutrud has agreed to provide a short talk on yeast propagation and Summit usually maintains 5 or more yeast cultures for various beverages. There will also very likely be a beer or two somewhere in the agenda.
Woven into the tour is our upcoming year of homebrewing adventures and we will be recruiting (twisting arms?) volunteers to help identify events, help with planning, and offer general support for the coming 2004 season.
So that's all the news that is fit to print. Hope this message has reached you in time for the event and we look forward to seeing you next Saturday. Sorry if this message was delivered in error.
Sincerely,
Rick Oftel

Get your freezers ready to rumble!
The Minnesota Home Home Brewers Association and the St. Paul Home Brewers
Club invite you to take part in the third annual Upper Missiissippi
Mash-Out. home brew competition. This year we're adding a special
competition category: eis-anything. That's right. Eis-anything.
Don't limit your imagination to eisbock. How about an eis-mild. An eis-IPA.
What about an eis-pils? Maybe an eis-mead? Or, if you're really creative an
eis-smoked-honey-guava-kiwi-lamibic-mead dry hoppped with fennel and aged on
oak and chipotle? Mmmmmm, tasty.
Things are frozen now in the Twin Cities, but they won't be come the weekend
of May 20-22. We'd love to have you stop by and join in the judigng. And
there's always the best of show at the Summit brewery with prizes and beer.
Check out our web site for more details:

Howdy Folks,
You drank all of the barley wine.....so it's time to release another. This Thursday, 1/8, we will release another fine creation from Josh the Brewer. He crafted this really great..TAN..lager, not bitter or heavy, a real malty treat; how appropriate for the dead of winter, we named it "Lack'o'Tan Lager". Stop in this Thursday and try a pint (or a few) for just $1 from 5-6pm.
Also,
Winterfest draws near. It will be held Saturday January 17, from 6-9pm in friendly St.Paul. We have a great band lined up, and once again you can expect to find the finest brews available in this market on hand. Look for your favorite breweries from the metro, St. Cloud, Duluth, and the newest kid on the block Bandana Brewery of Mankato.
****Here is the important stuff*****
We only have 50 tickets left. As many of you know this festival always sells out. It appears this year will be no different. If you want your share of those 50 remaining tickets simply...
Swing into the Town Hall Brewery - Minneapolis, Great Waters - St.Paul, or Hops - Eden Prarie and pick up your tickets before they are gone.
This may be a bit late....
Have a happy, safe, prosperous 2004
Mike
The 2004 BJCP class starts this week on Thursday 8 January, 6PM , at Al
Boyce's house.
Each week the class will be located at a different host's house around the
Twin Cities (thanks again to my generous hosts!)
The first class will be the Doctored Beer seminar - very fun and
occasionally tasty
If you think you have any homebrew that you think represents particularly
well one flavor, aroma or sensation - bring it
along! (ie, bitter, skunky, vegetal, etc.) If you have a homebrew you
think is really good - you can also bring that along.

sessions please let me know in advance. We welcome your participation but
we are at (or over) capacity for some of the host's homes.
