A good source of ~25 oz champagne bottles is to contact hotels and
ballrooms that host wedding receptions. I've had success in the past in
contacting them on a Saturday afternoon and asking them to save a case or
two of empties that I could pick up on Sunday morning. Some of these may
also have the buckets you are looking for.

New bottles aren't MUCH more. But...
I guess I'd talk to "decent" liquor store. You'll probably be able to get
a
used case of returnable bottles for close to cost. Good luck!

I have a 15 gallon stainless steel brew kettle for sale.
The kettle is an converted 1/2 bbl straight side keg.
It has one 304 ss 3/4" FPT fitting welded into the center
bottom of the kettle. Attached to this fitting is 3/4"
copper pipe to a 3/4" full ball valve. Buyer can choose
various fittings for the out side of the ball valve to fit
in their brewery.
It has one 304 ss 1" FPT fitting welded into the side for
a electric hot water heater. Attached to this fitting is
one 4500 electric hot water heater element with a 220vac AC
style plug.
It has one 304 ss 1/2" FPT fitting welded into the side
for a large face temperature dial. A brass plug is
connected to this fitting.
The kettle is mounted on three 2x4 legs. The top of
the kettle is about 5 feet high. The legs are dadoed for
a counter flow wort chiller.
I'll include is a 21' copper counter flow wort chiller.
Old timers may remember this kettle at a CSPS club brew day.
This has been successfully used as a hot liquior tank
and a brew kettle. Buyer might convice me to find a suitable
hop screen if used as a kettle.
$125 or best offer.

Sorry for all the email lately, but it seems we will not have tickets for
Winterfest ready today. I apologize to anyone that has tried to purchase
them already. They should be available tomorrow or Wednesday at the
latest.
Tickets will be available at member brewpubs and will be on a cash only
basis. The Guild has no way to accept credit cards, and I've seen to
many NSF checks in the past year (probably not from any of you though!)
Sorry for the inconvience.

Greetings fellow Beer-lings!
Our first BJCP class was a rousing success, with many fatally flawed beers
deliberately quaffed and sniffed! You are all welcome to attend class #2 at
Rick Oftel's house this Thursday, January 12, 2002 at 6pm. Call Rick at
(952) 941-9378 or Al at 952-927-8968 for information.
Beer Styles being tasted:
1. American Lager - A. Light/Standard/Premium
1. American Lager - B. Dark
1. American Lager - C. Classic American Pilsner
2. European Pale Lager - A. Bohemian Pilsner
2. European Pale Lager - B. North German Pilsner
2. European Pale Lager - C. Dortmunder Export
2. European Pale Lager - D. Muenchner Helles
If anyone has any HOME-BREWED examples of these, please consider bringing
them to this class for the edification of all.
Technical Topic: Topic: Mashing, including types used for different beer
styles, mash schedules and enzymes.
We will also be picking a representative from the Minnesota Homebrewers
Association to represent the club in the Scottish Ale Club-Only competition,
so bring at least 2 bottles of your home-brewed Scottish style ale for
tasting.
See you then!

Greetings all-
First, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! While ushering in
2002, the MCBG has been hard at work planning our next event. We thought
September was too long to wait for another beer festival, so we are
pleased to be presenting the first annual Winterfest, a celebration of
beers of the season. Barleywines, Doppelbocks, Imperial Stouts, you name
it. Join us and sample the beers of the season while enjoying some
soothing Jazz to help us forget it's still probably 6 months from spring!
