Ooh! Another quote ...
"I think this would be a good time for a beer."
Predident Franklin Delano Roosevelt, on the day Prohibition was repealed.

Anyone out there heading up to Fargo this weekend? I was planning on going
and serving the kit beer we brewed but, the Flu is going to prevent that.
And believe me when I say this flu is a bad one. Last saturday after our
most excellent party, it hits me. I'm still struggling with fever, serious
cough, and still can't hardly eat. I know I won't be in shape for the great
food, beer, and good time the PHC has organized.
If anyone is going, let me know. I'll have the keg outside where you won't
pick up any nasty flu bugs and also some directions to my place.
Mike Moranz, President
Minnesota Home Brewers Association
Hello Mike,
Greetings from Colorado. I spoke with Chris Schiffer today from the
Northern Brewer. Chris said that you and the Minnesota Homebrewers
Association are the largest homebrew club in the area. And I also spoke
with Dave Turbenson at Midwest homebrewing Supplies.
I am arranging the AHA On The Road Tour with Charlie Papazian. Charlie is
planning to be in the Minneapolis/St Paul area on Tuesday, April 2 for an
evening AHA event. At these events, Charlie gives a talk, takes questions
and tastes beer (where allowed) etc. Charlie will also be visiting some
homebrew shops in the afternoon.
Evening events in the past have been a reception type set up at a homebrew
shop, meeting in a brewpub, or some other gathering place. Hors d'oeuvre
and/or dinner have been possibilities in the past, it all depends on the
local homebrew clubs and members.
Would you be the best person to coordinate the local arrangements for this
AHA Tour? I know that there are a few homebrew clubs in the area and we
would want to include all of them, as well as working with all the homebrew
shops.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Mugs Up!

Just tapped at Sheffield's last night......
Thomas Sykes Old Ale from Burton Bridge Brewery, Burton-on-Trent, a 10% ale
brewed with Pipkin Pale Malt and Target hops. It's a pin so it won't last
long.
Also I will be at Sam's Marcy St tomorrow 12-4PM with some Christmas
libations to taste......
De Dolle Stille Nacht
N'ice Chouffe (10% Belgian barley wine)
Ale Mary (RCH)- bottle-conditioned beer of the year at GBBF this year, a 6%
bitter spiced (subtly) with ginger and pimento as well as coriander,
cinnamon, nutmeg, clove. It's superb, definitely one of my favourite beers of
all time.
Harvey's Christmas 2001- an 8% strong "stock" ale that is dry-hopped .

Brewin' Beagle has recently installed a brand new temperature-controlled cask
cooling system at Goose Island, Clybourn. Stop by (ie: Thirst Fursday) and
enjoy a delicious pint of Honest Stout or the 2001 Christmas Ale (which I,
personally, just love!!)
