The Beer Judging class starts this Thursday night at my house, 6pm!
Everyone welcome - please RSVP if you can. The first week is the famous
"Doctored Beer" seminar - VERY fun! If you have any homebrew that you think
represents particularly well one flavor, aroma or sensation - bring it
along! (ie, bitter, skunky, vegetal, etc.)

we don't really have a teacher for the entire class. Together, we can get
through it though.

Merry Christmas!
If you haven't picked up your selection of special beers for the holidays,
check out Winestreets in West Bloomington. France and Old Shakopee, right
next to Cub foods. I was there this morning and was very impressed with the
selection.
This store now ranks in the top 5 for beers you don't see anywhere else. I
even saw some imported cider, in cans!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Xmas and a Happy
New Year!
Cheers!

It is getting awfully quiet again. Is anyone brewing? What are you brewing? Thanks for asking
Saturday Morning (yes that is tomorrow before noon) the little brewery is going back into action after a 1 month dry spell.
Will be producing Dozer Ale (a.k.a. sleeping bulldozer) which is a high strength winter warmer. OK, Dozer should have been brewed 2 months ago but with an O.G. of about 18-19° Brix, it will gracefully mellow in glass until 2005 or so.
If anyone is interested in stopping by tomorrow, I will be in the basement. If you knock on door and no-one answers, walk around the house and get my attention through the basement window. Yes, it is the same window with the steam column that smells like a brewery.
Phone 952-941-9378 if you are lost. South west suburbs
Sincerely,
Rick Oftel
Tonight at Delilah's 2771 N Lincloln, 773 472 2771, 7PM, sample 35 Christmas
brews for the remarkably low price of $10 courtesy of Mike Miller.
Tapped yesterday at Quenchers, 2401 N Western, the CAMRA champion beer of
Britain 2001, Oakham's Jeffery Hudson Bitter. Beautiful!

I've judged this competition before, and it is a good one. If you can
make it to St. Louis, they need the help.

Subject: The St. Louis Brews need more judges.
The response to the St. Louis Brews Happy Holiday Homebrew Competition has
been fantastic! Thanks to all who are entering. We will need help on the
other side of the table, however. WE NEED MORE JUDGES!
Those of you in Kansas City, Chicago, Memphis, and all places elsewhere
and in between -- please look at your schedules on Saturday, December 15
and decide to come to St. Louis and have a great time at the competition
and awards dinner and party. We have a need Friday evening also. You can
register on-line by visiting http://www.stlbrews.org and clicking on the
'Competitions' button.
Please contact me at RBoland(a)aol.com if you have any questions.
