I’m still working on sorting out the cost basis of our JIG portfolio for those stocks acquired in multiple instances since I don’t think we can use a mixed basis if we transfer only a portion of a particular holding to John. I also have not started drafting whatever agreement we’ll be signing so the stocks can be transferred to John. My neighbor has submitted a request for a replacement notary stamp so that she will be able to come an notarize the letter of agreement once we’re ready.
Regarding a meeting this coming week, Peg isn’t available on Monday (and has sent me her check for December), I’m busy Tuesday, Maryellen isn’t available on Wednesday and I’m flying out early Thursday morning. So, I’m thinking we should wait to have our next meeting in January. Hoping Peg won’t have classes on Monday nights again and we can meet on January 15, 2018.
If anyone has any input, let me/us know.
Betsy
While working on updating the cost distribution spreadsheet, I realized Jim and I probably have more work to do on it than we can get done today (related to the cost basis of stocks we’ve purchased in multiple lots if we are keeping a portion of them and John is getting a portion of them). Therefore, let’s wait until December to meet.
I believe Peg is busy on Dec. 18. I’m busy the 19th. Does Wednesday, Dec. 20 work for everyone? Please respond so we can get the date on all of our calendars.
Thanks!
Betsy
Hi,
I’m working on updating the spreadsheet for the final distribution of assets to John, but haven’t had a chance to prepare the document which needs to be notarized for John’s brokerage firm and E*Trade to make the distribution.
Do we want to meet tomorrow?
Betsy
Hi, All
I’ve been really delinquent since our October JIG meeting. Though I did talk with my neighbor generally about her availability to come and notarize our signatures for whatever document we need to sign off on John’s resignation from JIG and transfer of his share of assets, I haven’t done anything about the document or working with Jim to put together the final spreadsheet showing that distribution. (Like that run-on sentence??? ::) )
I’m wondering what everyone thinks about having a meeting in November. I’m assuming Peg has class on Monday and Maryellen is not available on Tuesday. Nor is Tuesday very good for me. One option would be to hold the meeting a week from Tuesday, November 28 if everyone is available and I get my act together regarding the documents/agreement. Reactions?????

Hi,
I’m wondering if we can schedule our October JIG meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 17 (to avoid conflicting with Peg’s class). My recollection is that Mel will be out of town both days. Let me know if you can make it!
John has agreed to the last disbursement proposal Jim sent to him. Of course, it will need tweaking to adjust to the values of the last day of the month he formally requests to withdraw from JIG. Perhaps we can get some paperwork ready to sign and be motorized at the meeting (though it might be a bit premature if we don’t have our ducks in a row). I can see if my neighbor who is a notary will be available if we think we can swing the paperwork.
Peg - Can you go back to our notes from our E*Trade phone call to see what we need?
Betsy
Peg was called into work tonight, so The JIG Meeting is canceled. Will try to come up with a new date for next month. If we can move to a week other than the third, Maryellen might be able to come as well.

Hi,
I heard from Peg earlier today that she has French classes on Monday and Thursday nights through December 18.
Can we change our meeting this coming week to either Tuesday (9/19) or Thursday (9/21)? We can then figure out dates through December when we meet.
Let me know if those dates work and which is your preference.
Thanks,
Betsy
