Hey Jabbers!
We meet this Friday at my house (1966 Fountain Lane in Waconia) around 6:30. The theme this month is Lawnmower beers, so bring some if you have them (but feel free to bring anything else you want as well!)
We will be assigning random yeasts for the folks who want to take part in the JAB Yeast Experiment for the September meeting. This should give you plenty of time to plan your brew and get it done by then. We will do a drawing live at the meeting for those who are interested, and if you can't make it--just contact me later and I'll assign you one then. Trading with your club mates is fine! We aim to have a fairly basic all-grain and extract recipe that each person will brew the same and the yeast will be the wild-card!
Mike has shirts for those who ordered them, and they look awesome.
We need someone to host the July 12th meeting! Anyone able to step up and host??
See you soon!
--Eric
A reminder that if you paid for a shirt, I have them. They'll be at the
meeting on Friday at Eric's.
If you can't get there, we can arrange to pick it up at my house in Eden
Prairie.
We also have one shirt available....a blend in short-sleeve, Large.
Thanks!

It is time to renew your "Brew Your Own" magazine subscription.
We currently only have 4 people signed up for the BYO subscription. We
need at least 6 more in order to get the deal.
June 1st is the deadline, but we could probably let it slide a few days.
Let me know as soon as you can if you want to renew or start a subscription.
Here are a few more details:
BYO is running a homebrew club subscription sales program.
The subscription cost is $33. This will allow you to receive a paper copy
of the magazine as well as a digital version delivered to you email
address. JAB gets to keep half of your subscription cost ($16.50).
The club needs at least 10 people to renew or start a subscription.
Each person, pays the club $33. Then the club will pay the combined
subscription cost to BYO for all 10 (or more) people.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

I want to wish a happy memorial day to all homebrewers out there. Remember
all the veterans who put their service in and they ones who have died.

Hey fellow JAB'ers, I just wanted to let you know we were in the unlucky group for this one. Unfortunately no one from the club was a winner, but I think it was awesome we at least participated. I also know we had fun sampling and picking our club winner. Maybe next time!
See below for a snippet of the winner and the additional people drawn for the trip. Maybe you know one of them ;)
Thanks and see ya'll in June for our next meeting!

Begin forwarded message:
Hey all!
I want to throw out a special "THANK YOU" to all of the clubs who participated in this and ALL the members who threw their hat in the ring to make things happen!
We have our winning homebrewer (chosen by the panel of judges) so a big Congratulations to.......
PETER SKOLD!
Then, I drew one name from all the homebrewers from all the clubs in the Minn/St. Paul area and so congratulations to......
DANIEL HERMAN!
Then, I drew 2 names from our panel of Retailer judges and so, to round out the MN Brewing team we congratulate......
PAT DWYER from Grumpy's NE!
JEFFREY HOADLEY from Pizza Luce, St. Paul!
These guys make up the Brewing Team that will travel to CA on May 29th to brew a special beer for your market. They will work with our Head Brewer Jeremy Marshall in formulating the recipe. As I stated in the initial letter to invite you to participate, we will not necessarily brew the winning homebrewer's beer but it will be their ticket in to fly out to our Petaluma brewery. We MAY brew a beer with similarities, but I leave all that up to the professionals!

Saturday Trenk will be showing us the historic Shakopee Brewery site starting at 10am.
11086 Chaparral Ave
Shakopee MN 55379
It's across from the Shakopee Town Center strip mall where GNC is.....used to be KMart.
When you cross the railroad tracks, park along the right side of the road and walk back a bit to Trenk's place.
Trenk is working on restoring the site.....here's a bit of info.
If anyone feels like they can help us fill a dumpster with brewery debris or with salvaging lumber, bring work gloves is all they'd need.
Bring brews to taste or bring your setup and do outdoor brewing with our limestone springwater.
Cheers!
Trenk
