More help needed for Byggvir's Contest on August 24 & 25

We are on our way to a record setting number of entries for Byggvir's Big Beer Cup! I would love to have more judges and stewards sign up to help out. People with limited judging experience will be paired with judges who have taken the BJCP exam. (This is the perfect first contest to learn about home brew judging!) We are judging on-site at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25th. You get in to the Fest for free on the day(s) you help out and I try to leave plenty of time for you to enjoy the events. Fridge

Everyone, I have an older Fridge I am trying to get rid of for about 15. It is the size for a kegerator but I never use the fridge. I already have my beer fridges. We don't have space for it. I can take a photo of it later if interested. Thanks Erik Nelson 763-645-4740

Hey guys. I have no idea how to do this. While we were moving last week with movers to our new townhome in maple grove. Someone must of hit my mash tun megapot, but the cover handle came off. I have no clue how to weld stainless steel to get it back on. Any know how to do it or someone can do this small job. Thanks Erik

FYI I went to MW for hops today and some of the 1 ounce pellet packages are not labeled with the alpha percentage. Several people including a manager were of no help except to say EKG was from 4-7% Not good for duplicating a recipe! //Mike Behrendt

Byggvir's Big Beer Cup at MN Ren Fest

Huzzah! Welcome to the 7th Annual Byggvir's Big Beer Cup at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival! Entries showcasing historic, English, and European styles are being accepted from Friday, July 27th through Sunday, August 11th. You can drop your entries off at five Minnesota brew shops: Northern Brewer (Minneapolis & St. Paul), Midwest Supplies (St. Louis Park), Still H20 (Stillwater), and Brew & Grow (Blaine). $6/entry. Judges and stewards of all skill levels are encouraged to sign up to help out. Judging will be on-site at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival on Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th. Last year, we had over 250 entries, with pairs of hand-made drinking vessels, gift certificates, and other fantastic prizes from our sponsors given out. We at Byggvir's Big Beer Cup are very excited to announce that Mike Hoops from Minneapolis Town Hall has been generous enough to once again offer to brew the best beer of Byggvir's at Town Hall Brewery! Rules for this prize: Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery reserves the right to select "Brewers Choice" from the Best of Show round of judging. Brewers Choice may or may not be the Best of Show Winner. No meads, ciders, or sour beers will be considered. Brewers Choice will be brewed at Town Hall Brewery within the next calendar year. It will be served on tap at Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery the following August. The award winning brewer is welcome and encouraged to join the brew session with Head Brewer Mike Hoops at Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery at his/her own expense. Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery plans to enter the beer in the GABF PRO-AM Competition. Town Hall Brewery will pay the entry fee and provide 2 Passes to the GABF.
