Many thanks to everyone who attended our Becoming Traviata Opera event on July 1. It was a great success which we plan to replicate with other featured events like the SOMM Wine Tasting + Screening on July 8 (see below).

SOMM opens at The Film Society
July 5 - 11 with a special Wine Tasting Event on July 8 at 6pm

SOMM is a humorous and illuminating documentary on the mysterious Court of Master Sommeliers and the massively intimidating Master Sommelier Exam. Shrouded in secrecy, access to the Court Of Master Sommeliers has always been strictly regulated and cameras have never been allowed anywhere near the exam, until now. 
 
Special Wine Tasting + Screening - July 8 at 6pmAttendees can sample multiple wines, snack on complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and try their hand at playing Sommelier with a blind tasting hosted by Bourget Imports and presented by CMS Certified Sommelier April Amys. Special event pricing applies -- members get a discount!

In honor of Bastille Day, this 2013 Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival favorite, starring Kristin Scott-Thomas, returns for a week-long run!

 

François Ozon's gorgeous In The House is fueled by the same tension and repression that can be found in Ozon's masterpiece The Swimming Pool. The writings of an imaginative student who fictionalizes the hidden lives of a classmate's family reinvigorates a failed novelist, who opts to push the boy creatively.
