Hey everyone, MN Craft Beer Week is fast approaching! As many of you know, I am helping to organize a home brew contest that features American styles of beer. We have extended the entry deadline to Monday, May 9th. You can drop off you beers at either Midwest or Northern Brewer. 2 bottles/$7 an entry. Best of Show is brewing your winning beer with Mike Hoops of Town Hall! Judging will be on Saturday, May 14th and held upstairs at the Nomad World Pub on 501 South Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis (by the U of M). There will be two sessions: 10:00 am and 1:30 pm. (Depending on the number of entries, we might have a few sessions on other days---let me know in the notes on the contest website when you would be available to help out.) This contest is registered with the AHA/BJCP, so you will get judging points. I am also encouraging people who are interesting in learning more about beer judging to sign up. I will be pairing those with limited or no experience to certified or higher BJCP judges. This is a great opportunity to learn more about beer judging in a fairly low-key contest setting. If you sign up for both Saturday sessions, we will be providing lunch.
