FLASH CARDS
I uploaded the LAST BJCP Flash Cards (whew!) to the Discussion Forum. For
some reason I am having some problems putting the files in the proper
folders, so the last three Flashcard files are in the root of the FILES
directory. If you don't find them there, that means I have figured out how
to move them to the proper folder, so look there.
LIGHT ALE NIGHT
Mark and Mike already sent out the call, but as a reminder if you have any
homebrewed or interesting commercial examples of Light Ales, Fruit, Spice,
Herb or Vegetable beers (BJCP Categories 3, 21, 22 and 24), please consider
bringing them along.
STUDY SESSION
Next Thursday (April 3) we will have a Study Session at Rick Oftel's house
for preparing for the BJCP exam. Bring some homebrew to share, bring your
questions, and be prepared to help each other out with answers. THIS IS AN
IMPORTANT CLASS if you're taking the exam, but please come even if you're
not taking the test. You WILL learn stuff, and your expertise is needed by
your classmates.
THE TEST:
The Test is set for April 12, 2003 at the University of Minnesota. We will
meet Kris England at Coffman Memorial Union at 8:45am SHARP, and parade to
the testing location. BE ON TIME! Kris has the keys, and if you get there
late, you will not be able to get in. The test will begin at 9am, and be
done by Noon. IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN IN THE CLASSES AND ARE PLANNING ON
TAKING OR RETAKING THE TEST, PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP!
AHA CLUB-ONLY BROWN-ALE JUDGING IN FARGO
The Prairie Homebrewing Companions are conducting judging for the AHA
Club-Only Brown Ale competition in Fargo, ND (well, actually Harwood) the
day after the test, April 13. Please consider driving up for it! I am
leaving for Fargo shortly after the test gets out if anyone wants a ride.
I could fit 3-4 people in the Forester. Here's an email from Susan with
info and directions.
AHA Club-Only Competition: Brown Ales
3/13/2003 - Harwood, ND
Glad that several of your club members and yourself
are planning on coming up for the judging. I am
thinking of having the first judging at about 10:00 am
and then serve some sandwiches and chips for lunch and
have a 2nd round after lunch. Times aren't totally set
yet - it really depends on how many entries we can get
and how many judges I get confirmation from - may make
it a little later due to church. The judging is at my
house - Address is 5605 56th Ave. N. Harwood, ND
- Driving directions are below - It is a baby blue house
with brick on the front. I will let you know the
times as soon as I know for sure.
