Speaking of Bandana Brewery -- I went in there on Saturday night with a
group of about 6 of my friends that live in Mankato.
We were going to eat dinner and have a few drinks at Bandana, but nobody
wanted to stay because they were doing Country Music Karaoke. **COUNTRY
MUSIC KARAOKE** It also didn't help that the in-house brew wasn't going
to be done for another couple weeks.
So we ate at Grizzly's and then drank at Busters, three blocks away from
Bandana [where I was stuck consuming Gin & Tonics, due to the poor beer
selection.]
I'm not sure what type of crowd Bandana is attempting to appeal to, but
it's definitely not the young, college crowd. Which is terribly
disappointing because since I started home brewing [ a year and a half
ago ], I've turned at least two dozen college-aged students in the
Mankato area to enjoying the taste of beer, and not so much the
quantity.
Perhaps, the brutal country music karaoke may only offend a fraction of
Mankato populous, but it's the fraction I associate with.
