I guess the extra-long winter has dulled everyone's senses! :) After sending the
first message about the MN Homebrewers Association's annual Saints tailgating party,
the response was almost nil. Perhaps the selected date was bad for all, or perhaps the
interest in the event has suddenly waned. We normally sell all 50 tickets, but we're
nowhere near that at this point. Whatever the case, this event is on life-support, so
please speak up NOW if you are planning to attend. In two weeks I need to turn back
unclaimed tickets, and to be honest, at this point we don't have enough attendees to
justify the club paying for a tailgating spot and tables/chairs. The weather is warming,
so let it warm your interest in outdoor events, too! Below is the original message. For
the 73rd year in a row, the MN Homebrewers Association will have a tailgating party before
a May Saints game, and this year the date is MONDAY, MAY 23rd Reserved-seating tickets are
$12 each, and those you should e-mail me to reserve. Do so NOW, please, rather than the
week before the game. The club has to decide by April 22nd how many tickets we're
purchasing, so just do it now! Then send a check (payable to MHBA) to John Longballa1015
Parker AveRoseville 55113 The gates to the park open at 4:00 that day, and VERY shortly
thereafter the club members will begin assembling at our usual tailgating spot (#5) for
homebrew, grilling, and fun. The club pays for the tailgating spot, as well as for tables
and chairs. You bring beer, Frisbees, and something to grill. Three people should
volunteer to bring a grill, please; tell me that you're doing so. Families are most
definitely welcome, and one does not have to be a member to attend this event. Very young
children generally aren't harassed at the gate about having a ticket, but you have to
make the call on how many tickets to purchase for wee ones. Around 7:00 about half the
assembled throng will head in to watch the start of the game. Around 8:00 a few more may
straggle in. Some just hunker down and tailgate until the game is over, and that's
just fine. The crazy stories about prior games are now shared only at the event, so
you'll have to attend to hear about past years. Join us! Thanks,
John Personal. Professional.
