And the date of the MhBA Christmas party is...
DECEMBER 12 at the CSPS Hall on West 7th Street in St. Paul, just above the
Glockenspiel restaurant.
Another fun feature of this event that will re-appear is the BEER SWAP.
Bring up to 1 case (24 bottles) of your homebrew, and go home with an equal
number of bottles from someone else!

Guys and Gals, The Xmas party is almost here. Can
you believe it,
another year has past and it is again time to start thinking about
that
special dish or beverage or contest or give for the annual MHBA Christmas
Pot Luck and Extravaganza.
Events this year will be similar to previous years. People try to get
stuff to
give away. You eat some of the upper-midwests best food. People
bring a bunch of desserts and chocolate. And someone tries to pronounce a
bunch of names after drinking a bunch of beers.
Events this year will include the beer exchange, door prizes, label
contest, food
contest, and did we mention beer?
Ask your mother, ask the butcher, ask often and ask again. OK, I got a
little
carried away.
We need a few good volunteers to promote the event and ask local shops for
a few
"donations." I believe we can also encourage a few brewers to provide
a "be an assistant brewer for a day."
We can talk about this more at the November Hops meeting and anticipate
additional
announcements between now and December but here is the plan.
If you have something you don't need - donate.
If you find something that someone else doesn't need - donate.
The next time you are at a friends brewery, steal a glass and donate.
The next time you find a good pile of hops - donate.
How about that book you never have read - donate.
Old yeast - throw away.
So there you have it guys and gals. Time to get started thinking about
brewing for
Christmas. Remember, today is a pretty good day for a beer!
Rick
