Thanks to Jim LaRocque for organizing a very successful first annual Minnesota State Fair Beer competition last Saturday, Aug 16! We judged 85 beers, starting at 10am and going until 7:30pm. We had a fun time judging with the Jelly Ladies the next row over (ask someone who was there...!) The Best-Of-Show and awards ceremony will be this Saturday, Aug 23, at the State Fair - on the Education Building's outdoor stage - from 11am until 2pm. Our very own president, Rick Oftel, will be the Emcee, and rumor has it that there will be a LIVE! extract brewing demo during that period as well. Stop by if you're at the fair!
