Please mark your calendars for the Minnesota Homebrewers Association’s fifth annual celebration of national Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day. Details follow below. Grab that friend or rellie who has threatened to learn homebrewing and bring him or her to Barley John’s on Saturday, November 1st, 10-2. He or she could win an entire homebrewing kit, courtesy of Brew & Grow, Midwest Supplies, or Northern Brewer. The cider pick-up will also happen during this meeting. Homebrew is welcome at Barley John’s, but please remember to purchase copious quantities of their excellent beers and food as well. Generous tipping helps a lot. I need a few folks to demo brew. The club will provide the equipment and ingredients. You need to brew an extract batch for the assembled throngs, explaining the process and having them stir the wort, add hops, etc. Then you get to take home five gallons in your own carboy. Usually the beer then is served at the club Christmas party, but that isn’t a requirement. Please let me know if you’re willing to tackle this.
