Subject: BJCP Tasting Exam - New or Retakes: Sept 9, 2012 - RSVP
As North Regional Rep for the BJCP, I am hosting an open BJCP Exam on Sept 9 for anyone
who who would like to take or retake the TASTING portion of the exam.
I have 7 seats remaining, so reply ASAP if you're interested! (Please forward this
email along to any interested people in your club!)
The exam will be held at 9am on Sunday, Sept 9, at the Byerly's Community Room in
St.Louis Park, MN. The new tasting exam consists of scoring SIX beers over a 90 minute
time-span.
If you wish to take the exam for the first time, you need to pass the online exam first (
http://bjcp.coursewebs.com/ ) and bring your certificate of completion with you to the
exam. The exam fee is $40 for first-time takers.
If you are already a BJCP member and would like to improve your score on the tasting
portion, the exam fee is $15.
Note: to qualify to retake the Written Proficiency Exam (aka "Essay Exam") to
improve your written score, BJCP Members now must either be a National judge, or have at
least 10 judging points and a score of 80% or better on the tasting exam.
Thanks!
