Special Categories for 2006

River City Roundup Bullshooter's Cup
The cup is awarded to the brewer who accumulates the most points in the
competition. Points will be awarded on the following basis: 1st - 5 pts., 2nd -
3 pts, 3rd - 1 pt. The winner will receive a personalized, commemorative,
laser-etched mug.

Cornhusker Cup
In the land of tall corn (where the term "knee high by the 4th of July"
describes a crop that is right on schedule), the economic balance of a successful
year often hinges on the crop of this simple plant of the grass family
Gramineae, "zea mays." Plentiful and cheap, this grain adjunct often gets a bad
rap in brewing circles.

We're paying homage to this highly fermentable adjunct by once again
presenting this specialty class for the 2006 River City Roundup Fair and Festival.

Entries in this categoy must contain AT LEAST 25% corn (brewer's choice).
Most common forms are flaked maize or corn grits. Corn must be detectable on
the palate but in balance with the other fermentables. Beers entered in the CAP
category are not eligible for entry in the Cornhusker Cup.

The winning beer will be judged on its own merit, particularly drinkability.
The winning brewer will receive a personalized mug. Good luck!
"Maize" the force be with you!

High Plains Brewer of the Year
Again this year, the River City Roundup Homebrew Competition will be the
fifth leg of the _High Plains Brewer of the Year for 2006_
