Subject: Badger Brewoff Judges Needed 11/6/2010
The Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild (MHTG,
www.mhtg.org) will be
holding the inaugural Badger Brewoff at the Capital Brewery in
Middleton, Wisconsin, on Saturday, November 6, 2010. The competition
is sanctioned by the Beer Judge Certification Program and the American
Homebrewers Association. The event is being coordinated by Mark
Schnepper and Mark Alfred <HULSIE
2002(a)yahoo.com>. The Judge Coordinator is Ralph Kuehn
(brewoff.judges(a)gmail.com)
We need BJCP Judges for the beer categories. Additionally, we need
qualified Mead and Cider Judges.
If you are interested in judging, please contact the Judge
Coordinator, Ralph Kuehn
as soon as possible. In your email, please
indicate your judge
qualifications, categories you would prefer to judge and categories
you are unable to
judge. Remember to include all of your contact information (e-mail,
snail-mail, phone
numbers, etc.) If you are a BJCP Judge, please include your Judge Number.
Tentative schedule:
Breakfast from 8:30-9:00 a.m.
Calibration beer at 9 a.m.
Flight 1: 9:15 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Lunch 12:00 -12:45.
Flight 2: 1-3:30 p.m.
Randy Mosher speaking on how to evaluate/taste beer. Time: 6:15-7:45
(tentative).
Location: TBD. Either at the Staybridge Hotel or Capital Brewery.
Post competition party at Capital Brewery. Time: ~8 p.m.-midnight
(tentative). No cover charge for volunteers (i.e. judges, stewards,
etc.). Reduced prices on beer, price TBD.
