Call
if you get lost and well send someone to come and get your beer.
Mike has stated this will be the Day of the Yeast. You are requested to
bring a bread to match your beer. Mike has assured us adequate ventilation
will be provided. So, bring beer (homebrew preferred), bread and a
non-yeasty snack to share with the group.
Bock Fest:
Fitgers annual Bock Fest will be held March 15 18. As always, Lake
Superior Brewings seasonal Bock will be the featured beverage. Be sure to
stop in and get a Hot-Poker Bock to chase away the winter chill.
March Beer Weekend on the Gunflint:
March 23rd to the 26th is the annual Were Not Out of the Wood Yet beer
weekend at Hestons! If you havent called to reserve your space yet, give
Barb and Greg a call at 218-388-2243 or e-mail them at info(a)hestone.com.
Several people have asked Barb and Greg about space, so reserve your space
now or you will be sleeping in the barn with you know who. The Saturday
night group dinner theme is Italian. Break out those spicy
meatball recipes!
Brewmaster's Dinner:
South Shore Brewery in Ashland WI, will be hosting a Brewmaster's Dinner on
Thursday, March 23rd. Seating begins at 6:30 PM with dinner starting at
7:00
P.M.. The South Shore has conducted nearly thirty of these events, but they
are really fired up for this one. This will be the first time they will
have
guest brewers. Randy Lee from Viking Brewery, Dallas, WI and Dave Hoops
from
Fitger's in Duluth will help South Shores own Bo Bélanger entertain the
troops.
South Shore always has a twist to the theme of their dinners and this time
is no exception. A Tapas Barley Wine Dinner! Tapas will be paired with
barley wines (WOW!). Tickets are $40/ each or $75/ couple. Awesome deal!!!
South Shore will also be hosting Brewmaster's Dinners the Saturday
following
the Summer solstice, and the Thursday following election Tuesday (Ill let
you figure out the dates). No word at this time on the theme or guest
brewers.
Pub Crawl:
The return of the unruly mob, otherwise known as the pub crawl, is
tentatively set for Saturday, April 29th. Rumor has it there will be more
crawling and less riding than in past years, so youd better dust off your
drinking shoes. Stay tuned for further details.
Cheers!
