Greetings mba_AT_thebarn.com list users. I'm forwarding this note from Roger because we have a similar problem. AOL (Americans on Lithium?) and some other ISP's have decided that thebarn.com is a spammer, and so is notereceiving/accepting any e-mail from thebarn.com. For the affected addresses: 1. Mail from thebarn.com is bouncing. 2. You won't see this note. This will happen automatically, and we will be unable to warn you, because uic.edu cannot send you mail - that's the whole problem. We will not investigate these because we are simply not interested. But you'll be off the list. The only way you'll know that this has happened will be the absence of list postings. Sorry to be unfriendly about this, but that's cruel reality in this era of spam taking over the Internet. PLEASE WAIT to resubscribe until you have disabled spamcop checking at your ISP, or you have found another ISP, or you will be immediately re-unsubscribed when your welcome message bounces. About spamcop: This is a FAILED, earlier attempt to control spam email at its source. However, since all modern spammers have discovered how to lie about the source and intermediate routing of their messages, this method is ineffective and obsolete. Use modern content-based spam killing software on your end instead, and be sure to add uic.edu to your "white list".
