Did somebody on the list forward a piece of spam that came
through the mba list to spamcop?
If so please don't do that! Spamcop does a good job
of tracking spam and provides good service to help detect
spammers. (
thebarn.com uses spamcops rtbl list) But the problem for the
mba list is that spamcop doesn't appear to know how to untangle the
originating IP from the IP of
thebarn.com mail machine. So what happens
is both myself and my ISP (visi) get notified of spam originating from
thebarn.com. I then have to go in and convince them to look more closely
at the email headers and realize that the spam did not originate
from
thebarn.com.
Spam is never fun to deal with and constant battle to try and filter,
I spend several hours a month tweaking the SpamAssassin rules to try
and catch the stuff that slips under the radar.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
