AHA First Round

First round results from Holy Field winery: At least these are the one I can remember. Susan Ruud had 2 or 3 place. The only person registered as PHC to place. Arlin Karger - Cloudy Town Brewers I think 2 entries. MHBA Steve Piatz 3 entries including a Lambic and mead Al Boyce I forget how many entries at least 3, including 1st place in one of the mead categories. Gary Westman 2 entries placed. That the list I can remember. Congratulations! Quality seemed even higher than previous years. I found the Belgian strongs to very good - 2 thirds scoreing 35+. Wheats were similiar. American lagers -- better than I expected, which were about 1/2 standard am lager and 1/2 CAP. Lambic's however were a mixed bag. The number of judges were short, so some of us got pulled into a thrid flight that day as soon as the second got down to the chicago style taste off.
