Ladies and Gentlemen-- The Renaissance Festival has contacted us to see if club members would be interested in giving brewing demos/lectures at the Festival this year. They would like people the weekend of August 26th and 27th. They were wondering about two demos each day, one at 1:30 and another at 3:30. I suggested that we do one beer demo and one mead demo each day, and they were excited at the prospect. I have inquired as to whether the brewer(s) would get in free. Please contact me if you're interested in representing the club and the hobby at the Ren Fest. We should have some beautiful demo boards for whoever goes, and the club or the Fest will reimburse you for some costs. You could brew an extract batch or just show off your equipment and answer questions. You could bring samples (and solicit bottles from other members--maybe we can use some of the Fair entries?), you could make a batch of mead, you could have the crowd sample some meads--whatever you come up with! You will have a spot in the pavillion by the jousting arena and will have use of a microphone. Please consider grabbing another brave soul and putting on a show for a most appreciative audience! The club will help with resources and ideas, so please don't feel like you're on your own. You do not have to do both days. Thanks so much for volunteering! John
